UPNP - SLA5500 doesnīt work
« on: May 07, 2006, 10:53:06 am »

HELP!

I love MC, but I canīt handle the UpnP Server thing. I have a PHILIPS SLA 5500 and the NETGEAR 101. Both clients wonīt work with MC:
SLA5500: The MC Server is displayed but without any functions or further pages. The Sever shows me sometimes a NOXON Device, but no Philips. (Iīve heard the SLA5500 is a NOXON?!)
MP101: I see no MC Server in the Display.
Both clients are properly working with my Twonky Server, but I love the MC!!!

Thanks for HELP!

Did you try changing any of the options for MC in the UPnP server?  Is it started?  Is anything else running on that port?

I don't know the model of Philips you have.  MC does work with at least some of the streamiums.

The Netgear 101 definitely works.  Try a search here for more information.

Please post your system info.  You can copy it from MC Help.

Update to the latest 11.1.

for the MP101 - make sure you choose it in the device list (don't autodetect).
What does the status screen say (for both the MP101 and the Philips?)

(I appologize if this should be a new thread)

What happens when you have different MediaRenderers on the same network but the UPnP Server cannot autodetect the two different types MediaRenderers?

Some UPnP Servers allow you to specify the IP of the MediaRenderer for its specific type.

For Example:

DMS1 --> 192.168.0.14
NetGear MP101 --> 192.168.0.20

Is there any demand or need for this type of granularity for the UPnP Server?

The "BrowseDirectChildren" shows that the MP101 is talking to us, what's the MP101 screen saying while this is going on?
