photos: all the photos have the same name
« on: May 07, 2006, 09:16:14 pm »

Help!  I've just imported my photo library to upload to my new iPod.

When I look at the photos in my MC library, they all have the name "Hudson Bell" underneath.  That's the name of one of a band in my MC library.  I've checked the tags, and the name of the band doesn't show up as one of the photo's tags.  So why does MC show this name underneath all the photos?

Thanks!

No idea.  Check the name field in properties for a few.

OK, I think I have fixed the problem.  I opened a dialog box called "Customize current view."  There is another little box there called, "Thumbnail text."  Somehow, the text "Hudson Bell" had been added as a default for all my photos.  I deleted it, and it is gone.

So, because I am a very savvy MC11 user, I then selected to have the thumbnail view show the name of the photos, so I am not only back in business but even better off than before.

Thanks, Jim.  By the way, read some of the posts on the perbcasts.  Looks very interesting, and am hopeful that someone will post a how-to like the guy did with the ipod connections, so that we dummies can use it.  I could set up a photo slide show for the grandparents.

Regards,
John
