We have been using a simple RadioShack intercom system with 9 devices scattered all around the house for a few years now. Unfortunately, they present a lot of limitations and we are noticing more interference now than ever before. They run over the power lines and it seems that our electronic devices must be interfering or something.
I am curious if anyone knows of a good and cheap ethernet based intercom system? I would want it to use simple ethernet (10/100) and have some special ones with wifi. Ideally, it would have a lot of control over which intercoms receive the audio and which ones don't. It would be nice if it had a computer interface as well to control everything....such as adding intercoms to the list, controlling what intercoms respond to certain channels, etc.
Really looking forward to some ideas!
