Constant network traffic - why?
« on: September 14, 2007, 03:15:08 pm »

Before I run MC12, my switch shows no network traffic.  After starting up MC12, my switch lights blink constantly - the one for my PC and the one going to my router/modem.  What's up with that?  What the heck are you guys sending and where and more importantly, why???  Are you slowing my already slow internet connection?

Is your library on a network drive perhaps?
Podcasts?
Streaming media?

My music library is on another computer on my LAN which I've mapped a drive to.  I've imported 2600+ files.  But the import is a one time thing.  The network traffic is constant even when the player is NOT playing music.  MC12 doesn't stream the songs from the other computer, it loads them one at a time since I don't have MC12 running on that computer or any other streaming SW.  so I still don't see why there is all this traffic.

BINGO!!!!  Auto import was turned on.  Once I turned it off, the traffic on the network stopped.  Thank you so much!!!!
