External video player possibility please...:)
« on: September 07, 2008, 06:25:49 pm »

I was wondering if someone can help me out. I'm having terrible trouble with the video player in MC. I guess I have become too reliant on my Favorite GOM Player. Is there a way to use GOM within MC?

You can use the "Send to> External" command by right clicking on a file. You will have to "add.." the player to the list of external programs the first time.

But it would be good if you say what exactly you can't do with MC's video player right now. JRiver's developers are very receptive to feedback and you might find that your suggestions make their way into the program.

It is very easy to use GOM or other external media players from within MC. First, associate the file type you want to open with your media player using Windows Explorer. Second, in MC change the media type tag from Video to Data. Third, you will need to change your View Scheme so that the Video View will also show files tagged with a media type of Data. Now when you click the icon in MC, GOM will launch and play the file.
