Problem with Import function
« on: March 08, 2009, 07:42:19 am »

I've started to use Media Center recently (13.0.132), I like it very much, but have run into a problem.

By accident, I removed some items from the Library and I have been trying to import from my music folders again, but in vain, nothing happens. although the files are there. Nothing happens, although "Ignore files previously removed from library" is not marked.

- What am I doing wrong?
- Where does Media Center store information about earlier removed information?

Would be grateful for help!

Welcome to Interact.  Are the files there?  Can you find them with Explorer?  If so, try a right click, and import from Explorer.

Also, double check your import settings (advanced).

Thank you. I'm afraid, I haven't come any closer.
- Yes, I can see them with Explorer, the files are there.
- But how do I import them from (Windows) Explorer? Right-click, cannot see anything there, how to import from Explorer?
- I've checked my import setting, Advanced, all needed file-types there, actually only need flac.

Anything I can change manually in the MC database? Should work, cannot understand why it doesn't.

Is there a way to send screenshots?

Addendum:

I made a complete new, second Library, there the missing files showed up!

Should I go back to yesterdays backup? That would be a defeat.

My only guess was the Ignore files previously removed tickbox.  Double-check all the folders in your auto-import list (Options > Library & Folders) just to be sure.

You could make the simple smartlst "~d=a" and see if the files are in it.  You could probably right-click them and pick Import from there.

I'm having a similar issue.  When I first installed MC it found everything in my library.  I have since added files and it will not import them.  I've been through all the settings and even changed the import library to look at ONLY each folder one-by-one and tried the import.  No luck.  Running a Win XP Pro machine.  Not much good to have a media center if I can't get the media into it.  I need a clue.
