Noire Glass <> Normal Aero Glass
« on: April 09, 2010, 11:36:52 pm »

Is there a 'skin' for MC that makes it Aero Glass like everything else in Windows Vista/7?  The normal Glass appearance just affects the outer bounding box of the window, not scroll bars or anything actually inside the window.  Noire Glass has transparancy throughout and that (at least on my machine with most of my backgrounds) makes a lot of things unreadable or too garish to look at.

An example of the 'unreadable' comment:

It can be adjusted using View - Skin effects...

The "Seamless Glass" skin only uses transparencies around the program border, though the lack of internal boundaries may put you off....

There's a quite a few bugs with the aero glass implementation
Here's another, look underneath the player area:

Yup, i've posted a number of times about the semi-transparent background not being resized correctly too.

That is better, but still not a proper Aero Glass implementation.  The only thing that should be 'glass' is the border around the application frame, not borders w/i the frame itself.  As an example, open up IE and put a bar to the left (history/bookmarks/etc).  The border between the left frame and the right frame is NOT glass.  With MC, every border inside the program window is glass too.

I was only pointing out what you were referring to could be adjusted. I suppose I could have also mentioned I find the skin too flaky for regular use, but I don't care enough to attempt to describe what the problems are. I'll stick with regular skins and trust this will be sorted-out in due course. Meanwhile, (dare I admit it?) I seem to be sort of stuck on marko's iCopy 9. It's a fun way to tease mac users when I show them how a real media manager works. ;)
