Podcasts & Track Numbers
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:13:59 pm »

In trying to maintain a (somewhat) comprehensive archive of several podcasts I listen to, I've stumbled on some behavior that seems counter-intuituve. I believe this has been around for a while--some searching led me to this thread: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=38236.0 as well as a couple of others.

In a nutshell, can there be a way to have MC respect user-modified track numbers when working with podcasts? Right now, when you change the track number on a podcast, MC silently alters it to something else the next time the podcast feed is updated. I suppose in my ideal world, the actual track number would be separate from whatever podcasted index/episode number is filled in.

Thoughts?

I think you could edit the media sub-type.

Nope. Cleared out the media sub-type from one of the mp3 podcasts, changed the track number to the one I want and upon checking later, discover the track number had reverted to the original...
