Can this short lived feature return as an configuration option?

15.0.73 (7/9/2010)

1. NEW: Theater View Playing Now fades out the album cover and increases the prominence of the background theme slideshow 15 seconds into a track (only applies if theme support is enabled).

While I listen to my music I would like to see my extensive photographic collection. I think J River had the right balance with fading the album art work which otherwise dominates the screen and hides most of the underlying picture.

i agree, for me its the second reason to not use pics from the internet in thv, but one reason less would be nice.

If you have the online media slideshow enabled, it should still fade out the cover art.

If you disable the background slideshow, there isn't anything in the background worth seeing, is there? Or have you created a custom Theater View theme with your own images?

What would the name of the option you're looking for be called?

Hello Matt,

By online media slideshow I believe you mean let MC fetch (from the Internet) pictures relevant to the current artist and display? Assuming so here is what I've done - I've removed the J River provided backgrounds in ...Media Center 15/Skins/Theater View/Themes/Default/Playing Now and copied in my backgrounds. Show online media slideshow is NOT selected. If I recall online media slideshow only fetches from the Internet and not from the local drive. Correct? (A quick test of 15.0.92 with online media selected goes directly to Internet sources for pictures).

I really liked the behavior that the 15.0.73 feature had. It is similar to G-Force showing the album art and track info and then gracefully fading it out. On the other hand this behavior is probably not for everyone. Thus the request to make it an option. As for name, I'd be happy with nearly anything but think "Y/N fade album art from display after 15 seconds" should work for most.

Now back to Friday afternoons and given today's wonderful 94 temps and 90% humidity - any favorites?

i would like to support fastkayak's request. but from the other side of the field. im happy that the cover stays when not using images from the internet. would be even happier if it would stay when i would choose to use images from the internet, the cover would still be the most important for me. and when i want to see the images without cover i can focus on the cover and hit the arrow to the right (i think it would be really cool when it would start the slide show only then, because i find it distracting most of the time, but when i could turn it off and on so easy, that would be cool, and fun.

but i guess that would be far to much to ask

)

so i think it would be a nice extra option to set 'let cover fadeaway' undependend from if images from the net are used...

yeah.. that would be a step in the right direction... with 3600 seconds i could 'cover' every song i have...

Just don't mention your kayak when you come over.

My wife and I had a weekend without our kids earlier this summer. We woke up early and thought "finally, we can take the kayaks out of the garage and hit the river again."

We went out to the garage and looked at the kayaks. Their license tags were four years out of date (which put the brakes on our plan).

Maybe we'll try again in another four years

I'm sure that many of the folks that use MC would love to thank you like I did. (Well there are limits I'm sure !!!)

I have to say in the hundreds of builds I have installed I've never had a stability issue... but good to know that special care should be observed for the next week or two
