1. Internal: If logging itself causes a slowdown, it will be logged.
2. Changed: Added the time to the on screen display position window.
3. New: DLNA server added more video mpeg2 transcoding profiles, not entirely operational yet.
4. Changed: DLNA server more precise flag determination for WMV video files.
5. Changed: DLNA server tries to transcode transparently for mpeg2 profiles.

1. Optimized: Rewrote the logging (Help > Logging) engine to improve performance with logging enabled.
2. Changed: Log files are UTF-8 encoded instead of UTF-16 encoded (so logs are normally about half the size).
3. Fixed: After doing a search of a specific field by clicking an artist, album, etc. link, a view refresh could discard the field part of the search.
4. Faster: When starting audio playback, reduced the number of times an input plugin will be loaded and unloaded.
5. Changed: Programs OSD menu shows currently playing television program, instead of the live program for currently playing channel.
6. Fixed: No programming info was displayed if televison is paused exactly at a time between two programs.

1. Fixed: Pausing right at the start of a television program would have position OSD vacillate between the last and the new program while paused.
2. Changed: Improved how seeking with the left / right remote buttons works when holding the buttons down.

5. Fixed: The on screen display could blink off right away during image playback.

1. SDK: Corrected a typo in the documentation for the MCWS/v1/Control/Key function, and also added the list of special keys available.
2. Fixed: The on screen display could overflow its text when pausing near the beginning of playback.
3. Changed: During television playback, the program on screen display is first instead of last.
4. Fixed: If Theater View theme online images failed to load (due to no internet, etc.) it could crash or lead to runaway memory usage.
5. Changed: The cover art in Theater View Playing Now doesn't automatically fadeout if there are no online images showing behind the cover art.

13. Fixed: In some cases, the Theater View file info panel wouldn't update its image after a thumbnail was built.
14. Changed: When getting Last.fm artist images for Theater View's background, images that are smaller than 1/4 of a megapixel are not used.

1. NEW: New and improved on screen display is shown when jumping or seeking in Display View.
2. Changed: Removed 'Position' from on screen display choices available with up / down.  Instead, press left / right to seek any time OSD is not showing.
3. Changed: Removed unnecessary 'Play' display from on screen display that would show when pausing and unpausing.
4. Changed: When pausing playback, the on screen display will show the position bar (with paused state) until playback is unpaused.
5. Changed: Remote control special MCE buttons like "My TV" can now be trained to do any MC function.
6. Changed: Changed on screen position display for television playback to include richer information.
7. Changed: In sound recorder, tracks button is now enabled after Stop is pressed so user can edit track names and restart recording.
8. Changed: DLNA renderer reports more capability via getprotocolinfo. Could convince some controllers to give us more stuff non-transcoded.
9. Fixed: Audio info for transcoded audio and video files were being reported from the original file even when being transcoded to something else. Could confuse some renderers.

5. Changed: The image in Playing Now tracks the file that would play instead of the last played file (and resets to a logo if Playing Now is cleared).

1. Fixed: Individual zones could not be picked for assigning remote control 'Set Zone' commands. Also improved selection of playlists and display modes.
2. Changed: Improved performance of television playback using a library server client.
3. Changed: The option 'Use gapless for sequential album tracks' will disable leading / trailing silence suppression when it engages.
4. Fixed: On remote control command learning screen, next/previous playlist commands were not working.

6. Fixed: Import failures would not be reported on the import results dialog.
7. Fixed: The DLNA controller (when used with a different DLNA server) passes along URLS to a renderer without processing them first. If a DLNA server was running on the same PC as the controller, previously that machine would process the content before passing it to the renderer.

2. Fixed: Corrupt JPEG files could take a long time to analyze.
3. Fixed: On Windows XP, watching some types of network drives with auto-import could cause deadlocks when stopping auto-import.
4. SDK: Added MCWS/v1/Television/SeekInformation function that is used by television playback from a client to provide faster seeking.
5. Optimized: Revised split file engine used by television to use ranged requests when possible to improve library server client performance.
6. NEW: On screen position indicator for video playback (video, television, DVD) when in Fast Forward or Rewind mode.
7. Fixed: Some WAV tags could cause problems.
8. Optimized: Reduced the amount of network traffic when playing television with a library server client.

Did the little video box where the action window is get removed in the new build as part of the optimization for video playback?

I used to be able to navigate my library while having that small little preview window continue playing. Is it gone for good?

If you use a remote, you can use the info button on the remote to bring up the position display.

Removing Album ART doesn't work

I still cannot see cover art in visualisations when I am running the media server client.  It shows the cover art in all other places, just not in a running visualisation.  Is there a new setting I need to fix or, is this a bug?  I REALLY miss this feature.  I reported this in build 142 and it is still happening in 150.

I heve problem with audio buffering which doesn't exist in .142 build. Minimising and maximizing Media Center  window  causes high distortions. Music sounds breaking several times per second (like a hiccup) for whole time when window is animated.  Changing buffering doesn't help.

I use split view with two views (both rows) of which one is locked. Every second time I start up MC only one view is shown:
Show both views
Quit and restart MC
One view is shown
Quit and restart MC
Both views are shown
Quit and restart MC
One view is shown
Quit and restart MC
Both views are shown
etc.

Also, I have noticed for several (public) builds now that when I analyze audio, there is a definite degrading in the audio quality of music that is playing.  Hiccups and such.  That didn't used to happen.

I'm having problems replacing the "playing now" list on a remote zone when using a library served by that computer.

I'll double-click a file to play and it will load all visible items into the "Now Playing" playlist for that zone that I cannot remove. If I "add as next to play" an item it will be placed at the bottom of the list and is not actually the next to play. The only way I can replace the playing now playlist for that zone is to double-click a new item, which then adds all of the current items in that view, and the cycle continues.

Edit: It looks like I'm experiencing this: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=59362.0 problem. Dang.

1. Using Library Server with authentication enabled so I can sync changes back to the server from the clients. First time attempt to connect to library server displays an error dialog indicating username/password are incorrect (even though they are correct). Subsequent attempts to connect work fine, however, and I am not asked for a username/password again. Seems like the initial error message is being triggered incorrectly.

2. Any way to an enable changes syncing if you are authenticated, but just a connection without such syncing if you are not?

Posting this here as a bug:
Auto Import does not work if you use sleep mode.
So boot machine, add some files and they are imported quickly into the library.
Put PC to 'sleep' via Remote Control or MC menu.
'Wake' PC, add some files and they will NEVER be imported until you reboot your machine.
Using sleep mode disables Auto Import somehow. It's not just the current version, it has been doing this for some time to me and others.

Theme images (from the local drive) won't be rotated as a slideshow, and won't cause cover art to be hidden.  This is by design.

The logic is that online slideshows present variety and are worth focusing on.  Theme images are limited and static, and not worthy of being the focus of attention.

Feel free to start a thread if you'd like to discuss this some more.

The client/server tagging connection doesn't work consistently. After changing tag values on the client they seem to have been stored on the server, I delete the lines from the 'recently imported' playlist and some minutes later they show up again, only with a part of the tag values filled in... pretty annoying behaviour

Means, I have to switch for the tagging 100% to the server monitor or go back to version 136, this behaviour was introduced with version 142 (direct syncing with the server) - may be I missed some new setting in the options, if that would be the case, please advise

From build 101 to 146 cover art did disappear to show the local slideshow IF the fade cover art option was selected.  I have placed hundred of pictures in the theme folder so indeed I don't look at the "not worthy of being the focus of attention" stuff.  From my perspective the cover art isn't worthy of more than 15 seconds of attention either, nor do I care to look at the random Internet stuff MC digs up.  So we either have a bug or J River is changing the design back to pre build 101 behavior.  If it is the latter then why?  I thought the point of the option added in build 101 was to let the customer determine the behavior.

I've been using JRiver for a while but just started using one instance of JRiver (on a touch screen) to Control another zone on a different machine.

When you clear "Now Playing" on a remote zone it does not update the screen.  Hitting refresh (F5) will update the screen and show no files in now playing but this doesn't work in theater view and it continues to erroneously show all the files on the List Screen in theater view.

I am using Obsidian Touch Screen.

This seems to work fine on a local zone.

It seems the new lastfm submission has some problems when lastfm is unavailable.

A few hours ago, lastfm website went down and as a consequence MC was freezing for about 10s at each track change.

I disabled lasfm scrobble and the problem disappeared.
