Dog Days of Summer
« on: August 17, 2011, 10:04:00 am »

Things are a little slow here this month.  We're concentrating mainly on bugs.

We've also had some vacations.  Bob went to San Francisco for two weeks, via train.  I went to Colorado for a week.  John just left for two weeks in England.  Yaobing went to China for two weeks.  Matt's going up north soon.

It's been dry here until last night.  We had two inches of rain at my house, less other places.

It's still been a good month.  We're selling a lot of software, in part because of the interest at AVSforum in Red October and other video improvements.  In case you missed it, here's one of the threads:

The digital media space has been interesting.  Cloud media was a big deal in the press, but my sense is that a lot of people just view it as more Internet.  I don't think it's propelling Amazon forward very fast, for instance.  Google's acquisition of Motorola's phone business is a very intersting development.  Let's hope it doesn't make the other handset manufacturers lose interest in Android.  Best Buy has a lot of tablets out front now, so they think something's changing.

Here's an interesting thread on Ethernet over Powerline:

And KingSparta keeps on cooking:

I hope you're having a nice summer in the northern hemisphere.  Hang on down under.  Summer's coming.

Jim

The king is dead! Long live the king!

When can I send you my $26.98 for MC17?! But I'll only do it if you support DVB-T2/S/S2 in the next version!

Hopefully the development will speed up again after the month or two :) MC16 has really moved along quick.

Jim, before MC16 reach its end, do you think you can check my feature request for auto cache on background: full codec settings added to the hi -med - low settings ?? and maybe if you are in the mood you can improve the send to itunes feature with cache support? (send the flac's mp3 cache).  And of course i'll upgrade when MC17 arrives, but I would be very happy if this things get implemented in MC16 !!

It's exactly this kind of post that sets you apart from other developers. You'll have my support until Apple realises their app sucks and offers you a billion wink wink.

Keep up the great work, and I hope you all have/had a great holiday :)
