Analysing Optical Disc - how to stop it?
« on: March 18, 2012, 05:04:57 am »

We now have the option that stops MC interfering with CDs.

Have I missed it or can we get the same option for optical discs?

I don't rip or play them with MC and so I don't want it wasting time, or annoying me, with the analyse popup.

Thanks,

Mark

What is it that is a problem?  Is it a data disc?

Jim,

DVDs and blu-rays...

Whether ripping or adding digital copies to my iTunes library, if JRiver MC is open it analyses the "optical disc".  I'd like for that not to happen in the same way as we can stop audio CDs from being accessed.

Essentially I do all my disc based processing outside of JRiver MC and so I don't want it doing anything when I insert a disc...

Tools/Options/CD, DVD & Blu-ray.

Tell MC to do nothing.

Tools->Options->CD, DVD & BD->Autoplay:

Blu-ray: Nothing

Insert a blu-ray -> "Analyzing optical disc"

?

Turn off any file associations under Options/Filetypes.

Check how Windows is set.

Windows is set to use other programs by default, but MC is still trying to interfere.  This looks exactly like the long-running audio CD autoplay issue that was eventually solved.  I assume something similar is going on now with movie discs and that a similar "fix" needs making.

Anyway, I've raised the problem.  Over to you guys :D

Jim,

All are off.

Got to be an MC issue, IMO...
