I have been experiencing intermittent freezes in MC when skipping between video files (from one video file to the next or previous one). I have now narrowed it down to the problem being caused by enabling RED OCTOBER HQ. When using standard Red October there is no problems.
What happens is that the video goes black, and even if you try to stop/start or switch to a different video or song, MC will not start playing. Sometimes MC stops responding completely and you have to use the Task Manager to end it.
I have tried MC settings:
- Disabled HW acceleration
- Disabled VideoClock
- Disabled cropping
- Set A/V sync to 0
MAD VR Settings:
- All variations of decoding (intel software, FFMPEG etc..)
- Tried Bilinear and Mitchell-Natravali
- Experimented with different CPU and GPU queue sizes
- Tried all the flush settings (though I set them all to same, haven't tried combinations).
Additionally I have tried updating my GPU drivers Nvidia 301.42. My current MC version is 17.0.172, but I have been having these problem with previous versions too (I have tried every beta since 17.0.158 at least).
The problem appears to occur with all kinds of video files, tested with .VOB, .M2TS and .MP4.
My PC specs are here.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
EDIT:
Also is there a way to reset only the MAD VR settings to defaults?
