No Video with Red October HQ for HD files
« on: July 17, 2012, 06:17:11 am »

Hi all - frankly blown away by how excellent MC17 is. Just installed in on a brand new i7 ivy bridge PC.

Only problem I have is that when I play any HD content (i.e. blu-ray rips) using Red October HQ setting I can hear the audio but get no video (black screen). If I press stop the audio stops but still nothing appears on screen - the only way out is to alt-tab to desktop and shut down MC17 (which is no longer responding).

Switching back to Red October (standard) solves this.

Has anyone else seen this? Any idea of a fix?

thanks in advance.

You could try updating your video driver.

Did you install the chipset drivers that came with the motherboard?

Which CPU is it?

MC has a benchmark feature you could run.  It's under Help.

Thanks - using a top of the range Intel i7 with the onboard Ivy Bridge Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Congrats Jim - aside from MC17 being a superb all-round solution, Red October HQ does an absolutely stunning job at rendering SD DVDs in 1080p

Can't wait to see the impact on HD files!
