Hello,

Still new to JRiver MC and trying to figure it out.  I have ISOs of all my blue rays and DVDs.  However, only the DVDs are showing up in my library.  How do I get my blue ray ISOs to show up in the library?  Also, why can't I see my audio ISOs (CDs) in my library?  I assume that I'll have better quality playing the actual ISOs over playing my rips.  I'm using lossless for my CDs and MKVs for my DVD/BD.

iso's are imported as data. You can find them under documents.
To get them to appear under video you can select them all in MC and change their
'Media Type' tag to Video.

To get cover art to show up, select them and choose 'Rebuild thumbnail".

Also, lossless rips will sound the same as ISOs. It's kind of what lossless means.

I have a Blueray iso. JRiver doesn't play it.  Is it just me, or does JRiver support playing iso??   Maybe my iso is bad......

I am using DVDFab to make my ISOs.  This may be why I'm able to play them.  They automatically mount to a virtual drive when played.  I also use DVDFab Pass Key to allow access to the discs.  Hopefully this helps.  You may also use Slysoft's AnyDVD software.

It should show up under standard view on the left hand side. If you don't see a documents link then jriver hasn't found any document files. You will need to go into the options menu and under the library option you will need to add the file path and specify what types of files to look for.

I had to reinstall windows (windows 8 sucks btw) and now my iso's aren't showing up.

I've used the guide and the only file it found was the one file I have in mkv format, no iso's. Nothing other than the mkv file shows up under movies, documents-files.

What could I possibly be doing wrong? All other libraries, pictures, music, show up fine.

It may be a moot point (the OP may be gone), but that does not work for the OP, since he specifically stated that he has audio CDs as ISOs.

In fact, this is a long-term problem in applying these workarounds - ISO files are just images of disks, and therefore they can be either audio (CD or SACD), video (Blu-Ray, DVD and even VideoCD) or audio in video format (Blu-Ray Audio, DVD-Audio).  Then there are also ISO files that are images of CD-ROMs and other data disks - which might contain Images.

All this fits in the category of "Things that most users don't usually use, but MC should support in the name of compatibility with all audio and video formats" and also the category of Somewhere On The Long-Term Project List.

After reinstalling mc I managed to get one folder to show up but my other folder full of iso's is not showing up.

Any ideas?

After having to reinstall windows my second trial period is almost up and I still have problems getting one of my folders full of ISO's to show up. For some reason it foun the last four ISO files I added to the folder but it doesn't auto import them into the videos view like it did for my other folder.

If I can't get help on this then Ill be forced to look at alternatives.

No. I uninstalled and reinstalled (using latest beta) and nothing shows up and there isn't a documents link on the left.

It says it found 200+ files but they don't show up any where. Importing any other file works fine.

This really shouldn't be this difficult, the first time I use MC it worked without a problem.

I finally got it to work but it looks like an MC bug.

I had to rename my source folders and rerun the importer.


Now I just have to get the tv tuners working:|

All files that are imported show up in the smart playlist called Imported Files. From there, you can examine the tags and work out what is not happening and change the tags as necesssary.

Is there a way for MC to use the mount feature built into Windows 8?  I don't want to install extra software if I can help it.

(And I love Win8 for what it's worth)
