Can't Rip a CD
« on: March 12, 2002, 05:44:36 pm »

I have been trying to rip a CD and keep getting the same error.  I had MJ set for digital playback.  With that mode set, I could not play the 1st song on the disc.  I changed it to analog and the cd would play.  Once I got past that, I thought maybe setting the ripping to analog would solve the problem.  But I continue to get the same error.  Below is a screenshot of the error:

Hi aRCLiGHT,

I'm not the expert on this, but what mode are you ripping in? There's digital secure, digital error correcting, and a few others that I can't remember because I don't use them. It looks like there's an error and you are using digital secure (which reports the error instead of trying to connect and keep going).

That toolbar looks standard to me, MHead.

Arclight, I got that error all the time when I had a scratched disc. Clean it or repair it and try again.

Hi MachineHead

If you mean the greyed out File, Edit and Settings, yes it looks normal to me :^).

It's a known bug, but it doesn't break anything and so isn't high on the list of priorities to get fixed. (I do keep reminding them though).

The CD is clean.  That was the first thing I checked.  The wierd part is it plays perfectly as long as playback mode is not digital.

Just tried another CD that I know is spotless and I get the same error.  It doesn't matter what track it is, I get the same error, but with a different sector....

This is no bueno....
