Hi, this has to be a known issue...read lots of posts but nothing that seems to tell me how to resolve.

Go into Theater View with MC 18.18.9.212.
Select You Tube....many selections are there to choose.

Click on any and PLAY.

I get a error screen that states:

Something went wrong with playback
Details:
The file could not be found. Check that the filename in the library matches the filename o....

Any ideas?

Seems like JRiver is not looking at the correct place for the video??

But the videos do render on the selection area etc?

I am a diehard MCfan...I honestly dont know if youtube in theater view ever worked in MC18?

I just recently had a desire to try etc...

I will try MC19, but I hate to have to buy another version just to get this to work when its so
blatently there as a function in MC18??

Is there anyway except for upgrading to get this working??

Ok, Just downloaded and installed 19.0.54.

Same issue no YouTube videos, clips etc play when clicking on play...same error message...

This is on three separate PC systems.....all win7 pro 64.

Help??

Youtube changes the site from time to time.  You could try MC19.

JimH! I have the same issue. It is a problem with MC18 and needs to be fixed within MC18. MC19 cannot be sold as a fixer to MC18 issues.

It's not an MC18 issue.  It's a YouTube issue.

I tried MC 19 and the youtube still gives us the same error message on three systems??

So I cant even go to MC19??

There has to be a reason??

Does anyone have this working at all??

I just loaded the MC 19.19.0.82 version from the link at the top of the MC19 area.

I tried several YOU TUBE clips and they played ok.

I tried several others, ie music videos etc and got the same error.

Seems like MC19 has "fixed" some code to work with the latest YOU TUBE?

I can understand that YOU TUBE may be doing stuff the may affect playback function in MC.

But I would hope whatever you did in MC19 to get "most" of YOU TUBE working could be done to MC18 code?

Jack,

I have worked in software development and test.

I REALLY do understand this stuff.

If I signed off on software with function that does not work, not work well, or work intermittently I would be fired.

I understand that YOU TUBE and others do things that cause us grief and this is one.

From a JRiver perspective having to upgrade to another level of fee code to get a function to work that is advertised in the prior release is just not right to me.

If its not working then at least remove it from the interface or at least put in a disclaimer etc...

MC19 works better than MC 18 for sure but its still not 100%.

Customer sat is something you have to deal with when your in the market of selling software....

Its not enough to make me buy something else, its just a bit disappointing for such a great program to have these worts regardless of if its someones else's issue...your showing it as a function to be used.
