When I right click an album and choose "Cover Art -> Get From Internet" sometimes the new window (Get Cover Art) does not stay open. It just flashes up and then minimizes into the task bar. However if I want to open it from the task bar, nothing happens. I have to close it by clicking on the red X in the small preview window in the task bar. This problem happens randomly. Sometimes once, sometimes a few times consecutively.

Firewall or other security software.

Thanks for your input. There's no security software active. JRiver has an exception in the firewall.

Double checked the firewall. Both incoming and outgouing connections are allowed.

Try removing JRiver from the firewall and then running MC again and checking cover art.

I don't think this is an MC problem.  You might try it on another machine if you have one, just to see if you learn something.

Thanks. I tried this but it didn't help.
Maybe there's something wrong with my network as this happened on Windows 7 and is now still happening on another PC with Windows 8.1.
