Unassigned ripped albums
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:35:58 am »

I use MC20 on PC. One week ago I upgrade Windows from 7 to 8.1. Then I use the restore to activate again MC20 and it starts working well. But now, when I rip a cd, MC20 doesn't tag it. Anyway MC20 recognize artist, album and track name but book the album unassigned. So I've to tag each album, finding cover on web.
Why it happened? How can I solve?
Thanks.

I'm not really sure I understand.  It's finding the disc information, showing it, but then not putting it in the tags of the ripped files?  Is the information correct in the MC library?

Yes, it recognizes always correct disc information and saves correctly on hdd (correct folder and files name). But it doesn't tag, so in the library it compares as "unassigned" album without any artist cover. So I've to tag by hand every single album, looking for the cover album on internet.
Can u please help me to solve it?

Is it specific to the file type you rip as?  What if you try another type?

No, it happens with all kind of files from audio cd. I didn't try with other source... But it starts after Windows upgrade.

Edit the tag called "Album Artist".

Now I have to do it always, but before MC20 tags ripped albums automatically, including artist cover...

Firewall issue? Make sure you granted MC access to the internet so it can do its CD lookup.

Could this be a file writing "permissions" settings issue. Are you logged in as an Administrator on the computer?
Does Win 8 default to a higher level of file security/protection than Win 7 had?

I'm the administrator of the pc. Anyway MC20 recognizes audio files and use correct artists, albums and tracks name saving on hdd. It doesn't tag in his library and indicate album as "unassigned". So I've to tag each album I rip: it's very noisy. Probably I'll change software for iTunes with Pure Music!

MC20 crash definitely. I uninstall and reinstall it and now works perfectly, tagging ripped albums and foundig artists cover. Sometimes still doesn't tag well, then I delete ripped album and rip again.
