Mac problems
« on: July 04, 2015, 03:08:37 am »

I bought the master license for the JRiver. So i can compare these two versions. I think the Windows one is much better than the Mac one. I cant understand why the Mac version cant support the Retina Display and also cant support other languages for searching the library (just like the language support for Chinese in the Windows version).

When i use the Mac one, the software often gets stuck and crashes. As i would like to use my Mac pro as usually as the Windows laptop, so i bought the master licence, it now seems that it's a wast of money.

Looking forward to the update for the JRiver for Mac.

Cheers

Are you using the latest build?  It's 20.0.124.  You can find it here:

Are you using Vuze or Bittorrent?

Retina displays are supported.  Try a search here.

Thank you very much for your reply. I just updated to the latest version of the software, but i still can't type Chinese in the Search Bar.

A tool has been added that allows you to bring up a Mac text box to enter special characters like Chinese.  Let us know how it works.

Hi

Thank you for your reply. I tried the shortcut, and nothing happened on my MacPro. I don't know why, i just can type English in the search bar.

Hi Officer,

Sorry for my last post. I just updated to the latest version and i can input Chinese using the text box this time. It works, and thank you very much.

So wish Jr can also support the Retina display soon.

Cheers

It does support Retina displays.  Try the Noire skin.

Yeah, Noire does support Retina displays. I believe it's the only skin that does, but I could be wrong. Makes me wonder too, can skin developers add Retina support in their skins?

I believe it requires making higher resolution images for many of the elements, so it isn't trivial.

They can. There is a flag in the skin that enables support, which everyone can set, and for good looks you just need to provide artwork for high DPI rendering.
