I apologize but I included this request in 20 and wanted to make sure it was in the the 21 requests.

I would like to see the "Remove Duplicates" in playlists to actually remove all duplicates. The only duplicates that are removed in the present state is if they are the same name from the same album. I have a very large music collection as I am sure many others do. In many cases I have every album and greatest hit albums that a band has made. If I want to create a playlist from a single band or combine multiple bands I will have a number of duplicates that I have to manually go thru and remove. I know that JRiver has to validate what is and what is not worth spending programmers time for but it seems that with Dr. Who and the sharing of playlists that this would be something that would benefit everyone that creates playlists. I am not a programmer but the way I would think it should work is it would remove any duplicate name using two filters that can be selected, one by type and one by date. The first would filter by type i.e. flac, mp3 or other format. If flac is selected then it would keep song(s) that were recorded in flac and remove the ones that were not. The second filter would address if you have duplicate songs that were recorded in flac. This would be by date i.e. earliest or latest. So if  I had the original song from an album made in 1974 and a greatest hit album in 1984 and I selected earliest it would keep the song from the 1974 album and remove the one from the 1984. UPDATE I just started using Play Doctor which is a great addition to JRiver. It would benefit from this too as  the duplicates issue is present in playlist created by it.

Trackless DLNA/UPnP streaming.  Foobar has a plug-in component presents any UPnP MediaRenderer devices present on your home network as foobar2000 output devices.  It takes the output from foobar's player and streams it (bitperfect) to the renderer.  The advantage to this is you get gapless regardless of the renderer's capability.

Ability to apply DSP changes to all or multiple DSP presets.  For example, I currently have 15-16 presets & I'm trying to dial in my subwoofer placement.  If I want to adjust the distance or gain on the subwoofer, I need to make that change to each individual preset - It would be beautiful to have an "Apply All" option.

How about archiving vinyl into the library. I have many LP's I would like to add to my library but can't seem to find out how.

What I desire most is probably not available:  The ability to rip DSD from an SACD and have JRiver play it back in what ever PCM sampling rate I want.
This is composed of two parts:

1 - " The ability to rip DSD from an SACD "

and

2 - " have JRiver play it [SACD] back in what ever PCM sampling rate I want. "

#2 has been there in JRiver MC for several years and I use it all the time.

#1 can be only done with a "PS3" which has special SACD ripping firmware installed, so JRiver will never be involved with that.

Currently, JRiver MC20 can play SACDs in the form of "ISO" files and can also play all the other DSD files - DSF etc.   And you can always play that back in real-time as PCM at whatever rate you want.

So when you click on that vinyl in JRiver MediaCenter library, how would it play it ??

by tag order, do you mean how they're alphabetical now, but you'd like to be able to customize that?

if so +1 that would be awesome

4.  Animated GIF support.

+1 I would also like animated GIF support.  It would really separate JRiver's image viewer from most of the mainstream windows solutions (for some reason almost all Linux image viewers already support them, but virtually no windows ones do?).

I would like the possibility to use the mouse wheel in order to control volume instead of seeking while watching a movie in fullscreen mode.

It was already requested by some users but not considered.

An option like this :

Mouse wheel behavior while playing movie (fullscreen mode) :
 >   Seeking (default)
 _   Volume up/down

Like this :
http://ccm.net/faq/12310-vlc-change-the-function-assigned-to-the-mousewheel

or like this :

Thanks a lot

I would say +1 to this, because in the past I have accidentally made the program go forward or backward by brushing the mouse wheel.

A volume change would easier to recover from. :D

IMHO, THE BEST THING MC21 CAN DO IS INTEGRATE TIDALHIFI.

TidalHiFi is the highest quality streaming service available in the US and if JRiver is able to integrate this in MC21, it will make me and all audiophiles who like to stream audiophile resolution music will love it!

See if we can get this!!

Thnx

Hi all,

I love the DSP's analyzer...I often start a song, bring it up and maximize it as my 'visualizer'.  Why oh why can't we have it as an actual visualization?  No fancy effects necessary -- just the analyzer, fullscreen, even in theater view.

If anyone else has the 5.1 DVD-A or BR-derived FLACs of Floyd's Welcome To The Machine, you really need to play it while watching the visualizer...it's hypnotizing.  :)

A cool Lyrics interface would be way cool. The new Amazon Prime Music does it very nicely. It would still be cool Even if it were just a plugin. :-)

Roon like interface.

When I first saw Soloos quite a few years back it sort of blew me away.

I have been looking at Roon software and I must admit that as an interface to music it has A LOT going for it.

The db and the way they present links everywhere with data picked up from many sources is something I really would pay money for.

I would be very hesitant to exchange MC for roon due to everything else in MC, but the roon interface is conceptually wonderful especially if you have a lot of classical music and the integration with Tidal is just great.

I'd like to see an easy import from eq files generated from room eq wizard and other utilities.

I admit that that is the main reason I use JRiver. The convolver works great but I'd like to have low latency to get full benefits from wdm driver, and the best way is using parametric eq instead of convolver files.

Thanks!

I would like to see in future MC2*'s:

 -1- NOS (non over sampling)
 -2- No up and/or down-sampling
-3- Support for: 24Bit-384KHz files (without DOP and -1-2-)
-4- Support for: DXD, DSD, DSF and DFF, 64-128-256-512Bit without DOP
-5- All in all: Bit perfect support will give the best possible music quality!

Yes, i know. My request is when you don't point anything in full screen mode, the mouse wheel is set to seek through video.
Is it possible to let the user choose this default action ?

Reasons :
- I personally don't use the seek functionality when i watch a movie
- I use a mouse for everything (music, movies) and i would like to use the wheel for volume when a movie is in fullscreen mode (without the need to point a small region)

Dear Sirs,

Please:

- Include push buttons to select DSP Studio, user presets (loads).
- Add Reverb/Delay, JRiver "native", effects.
- Parametric Equalizer with sliders and/or knobs.
- 2 or 3 user presets to Convert Format.

Thank you very much.

That is a great idea! You can use the Load/Save DSP buttons while in Convert Format. This lets you partially set presets, but things like file location and file type still need to be set each time. I agree that presets would be nice.

Hi

* Could the themes pick up a certain folder from My Pictures and just shuffle them? This is a great feature on XMBC.

* It would be great if you could assign buttons or hot keys to certain processes e.g. click to play all music videos in a certain folder shuffled, or all mp3s, etc

Keep up the good work! Thank you :)

Cheers

Search here for "Car Radio".  They could probably do what you want.  Play the list you want, then press and hold one of the buttons to assign it.

Hi,

in v21 I want to see:

- scraping movie information in languages other then english (e.g. german)
- all DSP functions available in DLNA
- a possibility to control with the PC something via RS232 (sending cotrol commands for e.g. receiver, screen control (16:9 or 2,35:1 command for motor control), light,...)
depending on movie tag informations or the status of the programm

Yeah, I like RS232 on tag-information too. A lot of TVs, projectors and receivers can be controlled with rs232.

Re: [REQ] [R128] Finish the R128 Volume Leveling implementation
« Reply #177 on: July 22, 2015, 04:19:08 pm »

I have to disagree here as many of today's digital music outlets set their volume leveling at different targets dependent upon program material. The R128 "standard" is aimed squarely at professional broadcast and can really take the punch out of a modern day recording due to it's very low -23 threshold.

Apple for example uses somewhere around -16LUFS for Soundcheck/iTunes and probably for Apple Music as well. Spotify uses a preset threshold that is not -23 LUFS.

Being able to adjust the target for volume leveling would make me very happy. Being locked into a pro broadcast level of -23LUFS is very restrictive and basically does not play well with other digital music options out there.

I really see the negative in the "quietness" of this implementation when making CDs for the car and leaving volume leveling set on. I have to crank the volume knob wayyyyy up to get the CD to a reason level and then when I eject it - the radio comes pounding in at today's "normal" volume. Can be a tad annoying.

This is a decent read on other possible options...

https://auphonic.com/blog/2013/01/07/loudness-targets-mobile-audio-podcasts-radio-tv/

VP

yes please, this!  Current MC20 volume leveling cuts the entire output down way too much (as compared to say iTunes sound check) which requires me to offset the low output by cranking up my amp or volume on my external DAC/PreAmp which puts the comfortable listening volume in the 3'oclock position (instead of 12'oclock) giving me very little headroom up top when a song i really like comes on.  Since I share the same audio/speaker/headphone setup for all other computer sounds (youtube, skype, iTunes, etc) what ends up happening is the moment I play a video via Safari or go to answer the phone it just comes ripping out of my speakers like a jet fighter overhead throwing me into a panic to find and down the volume.  Needless to say it scares the h out of me every time and does nothing to impress my neighbor either.

I just purchased the 21 upgrade and I have no interest in any other upgrades that might come my way except for:
 - the ability to set the target output volume of volume leveling (default it to the 'standard' fine by me, but let me change it)
 - reliable apple wireless keyboard media key detection to where it just always works and does not launch me into iTunes by accident triggering both streams of audio at the same time

That's it for me, just those 2 things and it would be very much appreciated.  I would even be willing to pay extra to get those two things prioritized.

Jukebox Mode: I would love to see MC have a Jukebox mode where the user or users (maybe at a party) can pick songs that populate in a cue to be played in order without having to create a playlist. I have a 24" touchscreen monitor in my kitchen to access MC and when I am entertaining people always ask do you have this song or that song. Jukebox mode would allow each person to search the music files and add them to the cue just like the old Jukeboxes...

Hi,

I'm not sure if this has already been asked for, but when there is a web page in the main window, I keep hitting the big "rewind" button at the top left of the screen, rather than the tiny "back" button in the web page window. Can you please make the rewind button function as a back button when browsing and also make the back / forward buttons much more obvious.

Thanks

Would love to be able to access play/pause/seek with windows touch screen on a full screen playback window. Right now on my surface pro 3 I must long press, then detach/minimize to see the desktop mode controls. It works but it's clunky.

When adding or editing tags, if there are already many items in the field, new entries can be hard to see  (e.g., keywords scroll off the bottom of the screen, artist info scrolls off the right).

That's a good point actually. The tag editor definitely needs improvement. It could with the option to 'break out' of the bottom right and open a new, larger window with all the tags on display, perhaps in different section tabs.

Please supply a jukebox mode which can be locked down under party mode, similar to rival products.
I want guests to easily be able to add songs to a queue without interrupting the current proceedings.
Having this function on an "app" would be great as well.

Thanks.

I use MC as library and playback for both video as well as audio. I know it is very capable but unfortunately I am not as capable to use it fully. I find MC an excellent but difficult tool to use and would welcome an easier user interface. For example, if i want to play the music from all the albums of one artist in random, then i have to find a way of setting up the user interface (and I didn't find that yet). It would be so much simpler if this was a feature from start.
Setting up panels, for instance to skip movies under 40 minutes, is complicated. It is more geared towards mathematically skilled people then to the average user.
A simpler user interface is my 5 cent of wishes for the future.
Best regards

MUST have DirectX 12 support and be capable of utilizing Multi-Adapter in the API for 2D/Video transcoding...
I'm sure a lot of us are using systems with disabled on-board graphics along side discreet graphics solutions. Would be nice to link the processing power of both!

It will sort itself out next time it auto imports or your can force the auto import. The auto import should be more sensitive tho I think.

I already added a previous request to improve the handling of the core commands in Theater view when menu items are moved from the default positions, but here is a specific item to fix.  Using the guide button (core command) when you are watching TV, jumps to the beginning of the guide and not the channel that is playing.  Prefer that it jumps to the guide remembering the last known position.  Pressing the guide button a second time should take you BACK to a full screen view of the program you are watching.

+1 for this, I often by instinct (from learned behavior of other applications) expect the scroll wheel controls the volume.

Also try pressing the Green Button, or its equivalent on your remote. On mine I have it mapped as the command "Media Center" from memory. I think that also will toggle you back to the Guide on the current channel, then back to the live show, then back to the Guide . . . or similar.

From a usability POV it would be nice to have a "source switcher" similar to a physical receiver to switch between things we intuitively think of as different "sources"; like what's playing natively in JRiver vs. the Windows system audio. I only use these two sources, but I imagine others have Pandora etc. as well. It would be really nice to have my active playlist in JRiver, then easily change to the audio stream from the PC (YouTube, Vimeo etc)then back to whatever was playing in JRiver...
Currently to hear Windows system audio I need to do a File - Open Live... to add a "Loopback" track to my JRiver playlist, and it sits in there amongst the other tracks currently queued, which seems like an odd way to handle what is essentially a second source.

Having a built in method for running MC as a service would be awesome. I did quite a bit of research and experimenting but was never able to make it work on MC20. It just means I need to leave my PC always logged in so I can control it from the iPad. Would be nice if the PC could be logged out and still respond to the iPad though.

Thanks!

No difference as far as I can tell.

MC doesn't use .Net, so what would you need this for? Plug-ins?
