I have tried 9.0.147 with and with out Tivo beacon

what happens is nothing, tivo does not see Media Server.

Tivo does see the Tivo beacon when it is running.

like i said 9.0.146 works 9.0.147 does not work at all.

Ooops! When you are running without TiVo beacon, do you mean you are running on port 80?

1) Start the TiVo Beacon (control panel->Admin Tools->Services->TiVo Beacon). Make sure Media Server is set to port 8080. Try it.

2) Stop the TiVo Beacon, make sure Media Server is set to port 8080, try it.

3) If neither of these work, I'll have to think - it looks like something might be changing the http request somehow...

If i set Media Sever To:

[X] Support Tivo HMO on Port 80

I Get Error Message

Failed To Blind. The Port is not available please enter an available port number or choose automatic port selection in the network options.

automatic port selection is selected.

Failed To Blind  :)

Here is your problem - your server is blind.

It looks like something is already running on port 80. Are you running any king of server? Did you try to reboot?

changed back to:

[X] Support Tivo HMO on Port 8080 With Beacon On Port 2190

This isn't what I meant:

1) In Media Server, select "Support TiVo HMO on Port 8080 With Beacon on Port 2190". Don't change this setting at all.

2) Stop Media Server. Go to Control-Panel->Admin Tools->Services. Find "TiVo Beacon". Make sure it is running (start it if you have to).

3) Start MS and try  to connect.

4) Stop Media Server

5) Go back to Control Panel->Admin Tools->Services TiVo beacon and stop it.

6) Start  MS and try to connect.

This probably won't help either: Did you tell TiVo your IP address?

I'm stuck for now. My 147 (and others) work fine.

I may have a debugging version for you to try later if you don't mind.

SURE

debug to logfle would be nice.

also if and maybe this should be added to the system info page so when users post there sys info you can see the router and adapter info if possible.

since the Tivo program shares fine, and MC9.0.146 shares fine.

it must be some changes in 9.0.147 that my recomended (by Tivo) linksys system does not like.

I guess this did not happen.

I did try 9.0.148, no luck

went back to 9.0.146 it works.

back when i was in 1st grade i had to stay behind, I hope i don't have to stay in first grade for ever and i can move to other grades like all good beta testers.

No, it didn't happen. I tried, but not fast enough.

148 is the same as 147 for Media Server.

Ok

My plans for this weekend

1. Go to work for a few hours (maybe 1 or 2 hours)
2. plant my garden

egg plant
tomatoes
cucumbers
hot peppers
yellow bell peppers
green bell peppers
squash

strawberries are coming in
peaches are starting to grow

I am hoping for some cherries this year with like 10 cherry trees I would think the birds could let me have one or two.

I know everyone is on the edge of there seats so I will update you tomorrow on my progress

Well Here Is What I Planted Today.

3 Kinds of Tomato Plants 27 plants in all.

Four of them 1 1\2 feet tall right now with flowers

Peppers

2 Red Bell Peppers
2 Yellow Bell Peppers
10 Green Bell Peppers
4 Hababero Pepper Plants (Imported from Jamaica from a Friend who works for BASF Chemical, The seeds came from his mom's garden who has now passed on)

Other:

4 Egg Plants
6 Yellow Hot Finger Peppers (not sure how they will do)

I have about 50 Strawberry plants now and they are flowering so I should get some strawberries to mix with some Vodka soon.

The rest will need to wait till next weekend (they are not ready for planting out side).

My Tivo with HMO cannot see MS either.  I was previously using Tivo publisher without any issues.

I have MS configured to share by default, using 8080 and a beacon on 2190.

My Tivo can't see MS either automatically, or when I enter the MS IP address manually on the Tivo.

Here is the MS log file:

This probably won't help either: Did you tell TiVo your IP address?

FWIW I had to give TiVo my server's IP address to get connected after I upgraded from 9.0.146 to 9.0.147, whereas with 9.0.146 TiVo detected the server. In both cases I had TiVo beacon off.

Media Server in MC9.0.147 worked for me with or without TiVo Beacon running.  I haven't tried 148 yet though I have it installed.

I've noticed that Media Server crashes if it gets something unexpected.  It's error recovery mechanism could be a bit better.

My Tivo with HMO cannot see MS either.  I was previously using Tivo publisher without any issues.

I have MS configured to share by default, using 8080 and a beacon on 2190.

04/13/03 13:35:08 - Client tried to download an unsupported file type.

SeanC - something is very strange here. The error message (unsupported file type) is not a TiVo response, it is a Media Server response to a Media Server Client. Make sure  (under options->network) that either auto port selection is checked, or your manual port is NOT 8080. Make sure that no Media Center is trying to connect at the same time you are testing. Finally, try running Media Server with the TiVo beacon stopped, and then started again.

An understatement :)

I haven't seen any crashes here though, can you be more specific?

It was just kind of a warning as supposed to a specific crash.  The only times I've gotten it to crash recently was when I was using Internet Explorer to access pages that TiVo normally wouldn't access.

I can't remember what I tried specifically off the top of my head, but I believe it was valid according to the TiVo Music and Photo protocols.

I didn't implement the full protocol. A lot of stuff is not needed for actual use. These (or anything invalid) should return a 404 page.
