I wanted to ask for more flexibility in customizing the album thumbnail view for music files. Perhaps this tile view could be a start if it could be converted to show not only single files but albums grouped?

Please create a view schreme with the coverart on the left and detailed view of the tracks next to it.

This feature will become *extremely* useful if we're able to customize the tile layout.  I suggest a simple XML configuration file - nothing nearly as fancy as the skins.  Just something that lets us put datatbase objects in table-like specified rows/columns (including spans) and some markup to specify font, size, color, margin, etc.

For example, the current tile gives no margin between the thumbnail and the text - it looks fine for the icons, but real thumbnails look strange.

This looks good. It would be good if some sort of display like this (with thumbnail image summaries information etc.) could be also shown in a pane of the Action Window and is contexturally related to what ever is sellected within the list panes etc. I find that I often want a tidier more selective collection of information, not to edit tags  when I am looking for something.

Yes, yes. yes.....  I believe the current setup is also cropping text within fields.    Can we have tiles text go full length?

Or maybe AlbumView which has had grouped album tiles for nearly two years now.
