Is there anything obvious that would have made this easier to find?
Well what I automatically expected from when I first started using MC, and discoverd the "Disc Location" view scheme, is that as I said above ...
It's strange though isn't it? If the folder tree is actually part of the "Disc Location" view scheme, shouldn't everything under the "Disc Location" view scheme have the same pane menu options? (root/location/stacks/ etc...)
...
what I expected is that everything under the parent view scheme,
including the folders, would have had the same menu and layout rules as the parent view scheme(i.e. Disc Location view scheme in this case).
What I was trying to do at that stage was then add that folder (folder from under the view scheme) to my Navigation Favourites so that I could access it properly.
The other problem is that for new users ( and for users that aren't interested in any technical stuff, and simply just want things to work for them) , MC is quite (if I might say)
not so user friendly for the average joe ... and obviously needs knowledge on how to create ( many might not even know they could create ) a view scheme ( expressions obviously being quite complicated and intimidating if u know nothing) .
The thing for me was, that although I now knew that I could create a view scheme based on "Disc Location" , I didn't know that (or think of) I could edit the "Location" in Step1.
Having said that MC isn't the easiest program to discover feature and ability wise, it is also the reason why I love it so much.
Keeps my mind interested all the time ... but just a little frustrating sometimes, when I have no clue what's going on.
I'm not exactly sure how one could make it easier, but hopefully my explanations helped in some way.
