MJ won't get rid of files
« on: May 02, 2008, 02:47:47 pm »

So I have an external hard drive (drive F) that has about half of my music files on it, and last night I plugged in my mp3 player before i turned on the external hard drive and my computer assigned drive F to my mp3 player, so now my external drive is drive G. Consequently, MJ couldn't play any of those files. So I added drive G to my library and imported the (same) files, but now MJ has duplicate listings of all the files on my external drive. I removed drive F from my library, and ran auto-import, but the duplicates are still there. Any ideas?

In the Wiki (link above), there is a topic on moving files.  It should help.

You could add filename to your details view.  Sort by it and delete all the files that start with f:\

When Otto is run if it finds too many files (over a certain percentage of your library) gone it will not delete them.  It just assumes that the NAS or external drive they were on is temporarily unavailable.  It would certainly balk at deleting 50% of your files.
