64 bit Win 7 license problem
« on: March 21, 2011, 04:22:01 pm »

Hi, just purchased the software.

Ran the file.

"The file in question does not work on a 64 bit windows 7 system"

I'd like it to. Please.

It installs and runs on Win 7 x64.  Perhaps the download had issues? Maybe re-download and try installation again.

Yeah the evaluation version worked fine.

It was when I tried to purchase it it stopped dead in its tracks.

The latest download is fine - just apply the license to convert to the licensed version.

Yes, you don't need to reinstall the application to get the registered version.  Just use the mjr file that was emailed to you when you registered the program.  You can either select it when MC asks (if you choose register from the help menu), or just double click the file in Windows Explorer.  It will open MC and register it for you.  If it is saying the JMD file isn't right for Windows, then the download was incomplete or corrupted.  Re-download the JMD file from your email.

When you download and install new versions, get them from here (the Interact forum, the newest build is always at the top of this board on the forum), or use the built-in auto-updater system.

Sorry for probably being thick as mud,but i did not receive any such file.

I got an e-mail with a registration code and was sent to download "Media Center16-xxx.exe" which is the file I´m unable to run.

I have now downloaded the latest Media Center which seems to run just fine, but as a trial version.

Utterly confused.

Try renaming that .exe file as a .mjr file.  Then execute it in Explorer.  MC should pop up.

If that works, report back and I'll explain.

Here is my old reply. It was for the v.15, but the system has not changed.

I attached a screenshot of the mail from "buy-button" (I replaced my personal info with X letters).

In my email client the file attachment is displayed inside the box on the bottom. I can right-click it and save it to any location on my PC. The filename is Media Center15-XXXXXX.mjr  (the X letters are numbers in the actual filename). Your mail client may have a different layout, especially if you use a web browser to access a webmail account...

The attached screenshot is in the original reply: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=60395.msg407883#msg407883
