I tried a Sony 1080 several years ago and my experience was it does not support gapless playback, so I returned it, and purchased something else.
On the plus side it is one of the very few AVRs that supports multichannel flac and DSD over DLNA.

I have playlists that go on for several weeks, so I don't think it's a playlist length thing.  A couple thousand pointers in a 64 bit OS should not cause problems.

Next time it happens try Help->Logging->Report problem and follow the instructions to upload the log file and the developers may be able to pinpoint the problem.

I picked up one of the Amlogic devices. If you want "real time" support without having to remux as you said, a device currently has to have a Dolby "blob" capable of using FEL. The only device I could find that offered the support was the Ugoos AM6b and Ugoos AM6b+ devices. Sadly, they are Android devices, not Android TV so mostly unusable on a TV while in Android mode. Might be a way to run Android TV on top of that but not sure it's worth the effort since you would have to boot into Coreelec to use DV videos and back to Android TV if you want the AnTV interface for other stuff on the same box. On the plus, the AM6b+ reboots quickly.

In order to get the FEL to play you have to be using Coreelec (which is good as it boots instead of Android) and playback with supported rips; they seem to work fine via Kodi playback and also works w/ the Plex plug in Plex 4 Kodi. MKVs work perfectly for this if they are ripped w/ the DV layer intact (MakeMKV does this by default).

This only works on these devices because they use Amlogic S922X-J SoC which was, apparently, improperly allowed to use the BD player DV blob in it's SoC implementation. This is the same blob on UHD players that support DV.

I am not sure that MC will ever implement DV FEL playback but might be able to be designed in a way to feed the FEL into JRVR to enhance its capabilities?

FYI, The second generation of the Fire TV Cube is also capable of FEL if using with CoreELEC (same Amlogic chipset), but the firmware needs to be an older one.

Ideally, using a capture card (like BlackMagic DeckLink Quad HDMI) would in theory allow the FEL output oof such devices added to JRVR tone mapping. Have anyone trying that yet? It works very well with MadVR and VideoProcessor, but you get stuck with an older release and outdated tone mapping features.

Oups, forgotten the attachements...

upnp dnla usb and other inputs are all ok...

the result is the best in upnp dnla to the engeneered reddock... and from this stack to the dac the AES-EBU is the best too...

just wandering why is this stopping between tracks. Even in 16/44, 24/92, DSD...

It is a mystery for me.

I am Not sure  what "different location"  would be?

However, when opening the album, which I converted, both songs / files / tracks
are right there on the screen; 1 as the original, mp4 or mp3 the other shows Flac which it was converted to.

This, unfortunately for me, has opened another can of worms.
Told, at other forum and from support at Moon Audio, converting would still allow my iTunes library to keep original.
I was unaware, limited knowledge and all so, asked again and was told the music would stay in iTunes and I could use JRiver to manage my files for the A&K.

In the process of all this, testing issues yesterday, I Did delete ( convert and delete ) choice in the conversion window... went back to iTunes to check.
The deleted song was in the proper place, however, when clicked on,  " iTunes can not play as song is not in this location"  or words to that effect ?!?

Now, this makes me think "locations" are much different than what I figure they are. Location being there, on the screen, when I open either of the players; iTunes  / MC32...
in fact, somewhere else on the computer's drive...sort of stuff that, admittedly, eludes me.  :-\

Pay special attention to the section on permissions. Your crash dumps are very odd. They don't seem to show the program running at all.
Note the files are not under /Library/Application Support they are under the USERS Application Support folder in the USERS Library folder. Don't delete the Media Center 28 one or you lose all of your data.

You might share your zone switch rules and maybe people can help figure it out.  I use ZoneSwitch so the WDM driver routes to my stereo and it's been working fine.  Thanks.

No.

Might be a long time till you see this in MC. It's only *just* become possible for average joes to get working on some specific Amlogic based STBs. x86 / regular GPU support doesn't exist right now at least as far as I can tell.
I've got one on the way to play with, I'm excited to poke around and see how it's being accomplished in more detail. I don't think what they've gotten working will translate but who knows?

Is the connection via network and DLNA?  Or direct via USB or HDMI?

DAC's have different capabilities, depending on the connection.
