There is a way to force the album art to be displayed in the lower left manually. Go to the Legacy tag window and select the small thumbnail in the upper left - that will also place the cover art at the bottom of the tree (close the tag window to see). Then go back to the Legacy tag window settings to revert to the Modern tag window - the album cover will still be there when you close the tag window. Unfortunately, this is not remembered between MC restarts, so you have to go through this multiple step procedure to manually show the album cover each time.

If your reading this Matt, any chance it is easy to make that something MC remembers between sessions?  It is definitely something I always want to have turned on, but every time I restart MC I have to do the tag window dance all over again. Another approach might be to add it as one of the action window menu choices: Rip Disc, Burn Disc, Sync Handheld, Camera, Build Playlist, Tag, and now... File Image

If the issue is not what haggis has correctly described, then...

An album cover for the currently playing item is automagically displayed in the lower left only if you do not have a Playing Now tab opened. As soon as you open a Playing Now tab, the album cover disappears at the lower left and the action window is shown.

The album cover appears in the Display window. If you are not seeing this image, then perhaps the Display window is collapsed - in which case, you can expand it by clicking on the little upward-pointing arrow on the right.

My videos are all generated by ripping Blu-rays using MakeMKV, which offers a way to set d flags to indicate the default audio track and default subtitle track. If I get this wrong at the time of ripping, MKVToolNix lets me modify those flags in the MKV file.

No doubt there is other software that can do the same thing.

The default settings will control how a video is played for the first time in MC, but if you subsequently select a different audio stream or a different subtitle setting then MC will remember those changes and ignore the flags next time you play that video.

Hi,

Is there a way to automatically start some movies or series in a predefined audio language and subtitle language that difer from the global default language selected, based on some condition ?

For example: in Options>Video, English is selected as both the default audio language and the default subtitle language. But video tagged as "French" should be automatically played with the French audio stream selected and without subtitles.

I seem to have lost the album cover that showed up in the bottom left hand corner of standard view whenever an album was playing. Now the only thing down there seems to be the action window. Any ideas?

Hello!

The "Zone" section in audio playback is completely broken.
No matter if I add 3 Zones:
1. Sound card- Direct Sound
2. Sound card - WASAPI - Exclusive
3. Sound Card - ASIO - Exclusive

When I try to switch between zones (before the Playback is tarted) in the upper "Customized Toolbars" menu with "Zones" it still loads and plays back with the first added in place. If I switch to another "zone" it just continues the playback, but the "Zone" will still be the same as before and after that I can't even Stop or Pause the Playback, it became just "frozen"...

Please fix that, thank you!

There is DoviBaker - where you merge the FEL information into the base layer, making all FEL improvements available to solutions like JRVR, MadVR, MPV, etc. However, DoViBaker is not a runtime solution, and requires re-encode of the base HDR file. Which, if not done correctly, could also lead to a downgrade in image quality.

I would love to see a proper, runtime FEL solution available as well. It's the last frontier that is missing in my opinion. And while not all titles are impacted by FEL, we do see titles poping up here and there where the FEL layer comes to rescue the poor HDR layer encoding. The last one is Once Upon a Time in the West... Macroblocking and other issues with the base layer ,improved on FEL.

Thank you for fixing the text subtitle issue!

I remember having encountered pgs subtitles with the same issue, but I did not keep samples around. If I stumble again upon an example, I'll post it.
