can not seem to open the MC  w/o having to go through the entire process "agree to terms"  etc  each time ...
You're probably running the downloaded install file, not just the program.  There's an installation thread here.

as I await some help here,   continue to try and figure out How to manage stuff  :o

can not seem to open the MC  w/o having to go through the entire process "agree to terms"  etc  each time ...
in the "dock" on my Mac screen...the icon is just a  " ? " ...thought I gave necessary permissions...but obviously, a lot of this eludes me  ::)  so
continue to try and in a effort to get the proper "view" for my needs...which are simple enough..... just need to be able to get the music on my player A&K SR35....
I do Not use the computer to playback. save checking briefly a song here n there ...all my playback is through the main sound system, via the SR35   none of the
streaming / TV / cloud  / other choices...none of that is needed  :-\
hoping to get the"look" on my screen and order of artists / albums...that will be copied to the SD card  which then gets played on the A&K..... that is All I need ...

thanx

HelP  :o

I've now had two albums "disappear" in MC after changing their title.

I can find the files in the file system (Windows Explorer), and I can use the import tool to re-import them, but when I try that nothing happens, the album still doesn't appear in any searches but there's no error message.  It does say "0 new files imported" so the albums are in the MC database somewhere but the various queries to find them don't include them in the result.

The two missing albums are Freddie King Taking Care of Business disc 1 and Bud Powell Birdland disc 3.  There may be others.

In MC25, look to see where your cover art is stored, then set the cover art location to be the same.

Tools > Options > File Locations > Cover Art.

Once you've done that, select an album or more, right click, then do Cover Art > Quick Find.  See the wiki for more details.

... you're assuming it's not self-ripped :P

You can try this:
https://checkmate.gissen.nl/

Note that it detects corrupt files, but not exactly "bad rips". That is, it checks the file structure and frame integrity, but doesn't help if the recorded data was already bad to begin with (which is more likely the problem).

Only a very small number of my audio files are .mp3 so that app wouldn't really help, but thanks for the pointer.

That's definitely not a JRiver thing.  Can you identify a date range when it happened?  If so, you could sort them by date, but you'd still need to listen.

Are you sure it's the file?  Does it happen each time you play, and in the same place?

It's due to a scratched or otherwise damaged CD, so there's no specific time range. Often, it's the last track or tracks where the data is further out on the edge of the disc.  The digital sputtering always happens in the same place. I suppose it's what I get for ripping borrowed CDs.

Thank You again AD, much appreciated. I'm obviously struggling with this but making progress.

To be clear my upgrade to mC32 worked fine on my old laptop. On the new one I now see and connect to my network player so that is great the only thing bugging me is over 50% of album artwork did not transfer over nor did my playlists. This is something I could recreate myself over time but any suggestions to make it better now would again be much appreciated. If all ok throughout the day I will delete MC25 along with many library backups. I am relieved.

If you're intending to access MC from outside of your local network, then you'd have to forward the port on your router otherwise inbound connections to port 52199 would be blocked by the router. If you're just using it in the same Wi-Fi network, it *should* work though for the MC server if it doesn't work you may need to go into Windows Firewall's settings and allow the connection.
