Just to add - 0 and 1 are just computer values for FALSE and TRUE.  So, =1 just means that the previous expression is TRUE.

It looks like it is a 6 audio channels
How do I play such kind of files ?
Thank you very much

EDIT: Another option (if your AVR supports it) would be sending music using DLNA. No physical connection required and I don't think sleeping monitors would interfere.

I use JRiver MC for organising all my media files and for playing video. Stereo audio files are played from my NAS to a Naim streamer (without any MC involvement).

Multi-channel DSF audio (ripped from my SACDs) needs to be played via my Denon X8500H AV amp, but unfortunately it only supports stereo DSF files, so a DLNA connection is not going to work. This is why I am choosing to decode the DSFs in MC and send a multi-channel PCM signal to the AV amp.

This is not good news. But thank you very much for your infomartion. Do you think - or is it possible at all - that B&W can make them DNLA-compatible through a firmware update?

Yes it's possible to update to DNLA compatible, The Pearl from Cabasse wasn't DNLA compatible after an update now it is.
3 years later B&W did not update Formation to make it DNLA compatible, so it is now clear they don't want to do that, this is beyond understanding

Thanks, Zybex, I didn't know that!  That opens up some opportunities :D

I had a quick play with a few of my own links.  Looks like you get the 720p SD regardless of what screen resolution (or if you have HDR tuned on) - even if there is a UHD HDR version available.

Do you have an example?

Now it can!  https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,138885.0.html

I have seen! And it's glorious.
I have done some Facetagging and Geocoding testing and posted in both respective threads
Thank you guys for the image love :)

Hi yaobing

I have (finally) gotten back to my computer and had time for a bit of testing. This is looking great.

The standalone right-click 'Face Tag Image' is a more intuitive interface. This works well.
In no particular order, some observations, questions and feedback.
Some of below will not be common use cases, just trying to 'break' it and see how far compatibility goes.
Eg it will be uncommon to want to move or resize an existing region...

If no face data is present, would it be possible to simply click and drag on the image to create a new box?
Currently, if my mouse hovers over the image it is a 'move' icon. If I click and drag, a box is created wherever I released the left-click (with prompt saying 'a new region is created according to the rectangle you created on the image'). This isn't actually true as it does not reflect the area I tried to create.

Special characters seem to be sorted (thanks)

Regions & [People] fields correctly updated in LR when created or changed in MC

If I rename region in LR (that was initially created in MC), this is reflected in MC however I still end up with some duplicate data
Start with two regions in MC (Spencer & Chris)
Rename these in LR (Spencer LR & Chris LR)
Update library from tags in MC
MC Face Tagging now has four region entries, but only two of these have rectangles in the image view
The original rectangles are renamed Spencer LR and Chris LR. There are two entries Spencer & Chris without rectangle data now (Point 0,0).
Similarly, [People] also has four entries instead of two.
I know you have detailed the complexities of knowing what has been changed and linking the region data to the [People] data.
Can you see any way around this? Otherwise, we should be recommending one way tagging direction so as not to create duplicate entries.
Could there be a tool/button in the face tagger to detect and remove 0,0 region data?

If I resize/move a region in LR, this is reflected in MC provided I run 'update library from tags'
If the resized/moved region is also renamed in LR, then above duplication (in region and [People]) also occurs.

Suggestions:
  • ability to view & edit the 'Name' of the region under the box in Face Tag View (a la lightroom images shared in post further up)
  • when typing into the 'Name' box (either in the Face tagging pane on the right or in the box itself if added) please allow autofill / selection from the [People] field
  • additional info that would be helpful to display in the Face Tag pane on the right: Number of People, any Regions not named and any regions without coordinates (eg the 0,0 example above)
  • A 'recently tagged' list could be really helpful here. Often there may be only a handful of people in an album when tagging. Would save manually typing the same names over and over again

Again, hugely appreciate of the efforts here, and building something new from the ground up :) Keep the image love coming!

Excellent. Thanks so much for incorporating this Yaobing & team :)

I prepared four files and did some testing
1. Has Coordinates, Has Place Tags already
2. Has Coordinates, No Place Tags
3. No coordinates, Has Place Data
4. No coordinates, No Place Data

Currently MC can help me address 1 & 2.

Where existing data is in the Place fields, MC will update/over-write existing entries (as expected)
Overall seems to work very well with a few test files (have not tried in bulk noting the API issues!)
I have not seen any errors, just a few quirks and incosistency with how granular the location data is in Geocode

Agree some fields end up empty. I tagged some from a recent farmstay not far from a major city in Australia lat 153°7'0.27"E  long 27°57'9.93"S
  [Country] Australia
  [State] Queensland
  [City] empty
  [Sublocation] Boyland, Boyland Road

Sublocation: I am not sure how the API handles sublocation queries...
See above, has two entries. I'm guessing we are limited by how data is stored on the geocode site (preference above would be for 'Boyland' to be the City and 'Boyland Road' to be the sublocation.

For a file with lat 27°29'2.12"S & long 153°1'36.66"E
It gives me [Sublocation] South Brisbane,South Brisbane,Stanley Street,Queensland Children's Hospital
Country = Australia, State = Queensland, City = Brisbane City as expected
All of the entries populated in Sublocation are correct, but it would generally be desired to have a single entry, or to comma delimit them (or even nest them if they are predictably hierarchical)?
I am not sure why  South Brisbane would be duplicated in the above example.
See 'Sublocation Tag.jpeg' attached
Another consequence of this is that there must be a character limit when Lightroom reads the IPTC location field (see truncated value in LR IPTC Fields.jpeg)
Otherwise all Country, State, City, Sublocation visible in LR IPTC as expected

Would you consider using \ as the delimited in [Places] such that it can be nested in views?

Some indicator that the query is occurring could be helpful eg in the status bar Eg 'updating location data file 1/4' etc

I agree with others that I would pay for a user API if this were available. Can sometimes have a thousand photos to tag at a time, not to mention a library of several hundred thousand I may be going back to ;) Don't want to stretch the friendship and get MC banned. And obviously would like longevity and reliability of the service.

Next feature will be 'Add coordinates from Map' to address scenarios 3 & 4 above :)
