Hello, I appreciate your thoughs on ways to configure JRiver and/or windows in order do accomplish the best possible signal to my projector.

I currently have windows setup as 4:4:4 12bit 23hz, so that I can fully benefit from Jrivers chroma upscaling capabilities - this works just fine for the vast majority of the movies which are 24fps. When I play the (rare) movies which are 60fps, JRiver/Windows changes the HDMI output signal to 4:4:4 8bit 60hz, so I am losing the 10bit resolution from the original UHD-HDR files.

Please, does anybody know if it would it be possible to have a different configuration for 60fps(60hz)? I would like for the system to change to 4:2:2 12bit 60hz instead of keeping 4:4:4 and reducing bit depth to 8.

Gotta concur with everyone else here. 4:4:4 8bit is better than 4:2:2 12 or 10. You're using a projector, with a projector, you ideally want to tonemap anyways.

Gemini Man, bad movie, phenomenally interesting HFR cinematography. Hopefully you've checked out Billy Lynn too.

Curious what the motivation was for posting this, are users confused about what they're paying for and why it costs money to maintain / provide JRiver's services over time? I think a lot of people have a hard time wrapping their heads around how many 'components' make up the software experiences they've come to expect.

The fix is not available in a build yet. It'll be included in 32.0.48 and newer.
Thank you. This has been present for a while.

This should fix image based and text based subs correct?

Hello,

Is it possible (via the "Customize views for JRemote, Gizmo & Panel" dialog under the Advanced group of options for Media Network) to specify or alter the thumbnail text that gets presented in the Album view for JRemote?

I have several views that are sorted by Year.  In MC itself, I've modified the thumbnail text to include [Year], usually on a line by itself since multiple lines of text can be accommodated there.  In JRemote, I'd like the prepend the [Year] of an album with the [Album] name.

Thanks!
  Matt

You're very welcome. Glad to hear you got it worked out.

Most of what I have learned in MC is just floundering about trying different settings and ticking/un-ticking various check-boxes just to see what happens... even when the relevance to what I am trying to accomplish is not clear at the time. As long as you limit your experiment to a small number of files, the damage, if not reversible by undo, is minimal.

The expression syntax is wrong, it should be:
[=compare([last played,0],<,math(now()-rand(60,90,1)))]=1

Your expression will always return 1 for any file due to how if() works with an invalid expression ("=<" is not valid in there)

I finally figured it out.

Looks like this didn't fix the issue for italics portions of .srt subs.  They are still cut off on the edges.

Success! Under a View ('Progressive Rock') I was able to create a sub-view ('Progressive Rock by Country') and since all my prog rock artists are already tagged for country they show up in the tree in the right place. Thanks so much, HPBEME, for your help on this; you really pointed me in the right direction.
