The author of nircmd describes it as a command-line utility. How do I create a program that exploits nircmd to run my .bat file in hidden mode?

Just to be clear, there is no issue if you left click, hold, and drag in the uppermost "border" region (above the PlayerBar and at the same level as the menus, customized toolbar buttons, and Close button).  This is the same region universally used to drag windows.  You only get Spotlight when left clicking in the PlayerBar region.  The sensitive region is nicely revealed if you have Tooltips activated and hover the mouse about.

Personally, I think having a "PlayerBar long click" action is clever, but this screen real estate could potentially become even more valuable if the user could specify which action occurs.  I agree with HPBME in that there are plenty of other ways to activate Spotlight, so for me it's not necessary to have it here since I do not use Spotlight all that often.  However, I would love it if long left click in this relatively large region could activate one of my most used toolbar buttons (which are tiny).  For example, I might choose opening the Options menu, something I do fairly often, or maybe toggling the Tree visibility, etc.  The "PlayerBar long click" action could be user-selected by adding a checkbox in the middle region of the Customize Toolbar popup.  Alternatively, a RMB exclusive option on any custom toolbar button.  Then if nothing is selected, the region reverts to dragging the window (Spotlight would have to be added to the Customize Toolbar list, or a RMB option added to its currently displayed button).

If none of this is deemed possible at this time, then I vote for leaving the current action alone since it does make logical sense to quickly open Spotlight from the PlayerBar (once you realize what is going on).  It's more useful to me as is than assigning additional area for simply dragging a window.

You might try updating first to see if it's been already addressed, the latest version is 32.0.45.

Hope someone picks up where I left. A Skin 'Easy White' was on my mind, to have a white counterpart of Easy Grey...

This wasn't an issue in 32.0.20 (and if I revert to this version, it's still not), but since updating to 32.0.36 (and now 32.0.45 after the suggestion below), whenever I play a video, the dock and the top Apple toolbar don't go away, they stay present—no good for watching. Probably an easy fix, but I've now spemt over an hour mucking around with settings and can't figure it out so thought I'd ask. Any ideas? I'm on Sonoma 14.4.1 running on a 2023 Mac Studio, and as I've said I've never had a problem like this on this machine before with any earlier version. Thanks ion advance for the help!

My advice for new Skin-creators: start with a good template, like Easy Grey. Because the coding (main.xml) is up-to-date and there are many comments (from EnglishTiger) to help you understand Skin and coding options.

Skin Easy Grey version 1P
I made a few changes that give the Skin a 'cleaner' look, by leaving some images out. A 'Less is more'  approach. For those who are interested, an attachment is available.

There will be no more Easy Grey version-updates. I have decided to stop developing Skins. My mind likes creating Skins a lot but my body does not.
Hmm... need matching style for Mini View... 'Enlarge scrollbars on mouse over' is quite enough...

I did find a method that seems to induce MC hanging reliably, and it looks like I may have given incorrect information in my initial post.

I start playing an album, let it get to the end where the player bar shows track title and "waiting". At this point any attempt to play a video file causes MC to hang.

This works whether it is at the end of an album, or repeat is set to "Stop After Each Item". It also works whether or not the track was allowed to play out or if I advance playback to near the end of the track.

MC does not hang if I then play another audio file and attempt to play a video while that audio is still playing. So it now appears to only be the state above that causes the issue.

I purchased the MS-01 with base Intel i5-12600H processor. While the benchmark score was not quite up to the UM790, it was still quite respectable. I posted the results in the benchmark thread here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,54396.400.html.

It allowed me to get rid of my noisy HTPC at the expense of a few internal LEDs that I can't cover with black tape. I particularly liked the cost (less than $600) even when I added my own RAM and SSD. Bypassing a gaming GPU provides quite a cost reduction.

I was really hoping Pallit or someone would make an RTX A4000 with a fat passive heatsink but it seems unlikely (not that the resulting monster would fit in most SFF chassis). VERY good performance on those little things, like shockingly good.

Hello, I truly apologize if this has been asked/answered before - Does JRiver 32 support the processing of the FEL layer on MKV Dolby Vision files? Not just the support of RPU, but the added bits/resolution which FEL brings to the table.

Might be a long time till you see this in MC. It's only *just* become possible for average joes to get working on some specific Amlogic based STBs. x86 / regular GPU support doesn't exist right now at least as far as I can tell.
I've got one on the way to play with, I'm excited to poke around and see how it's being accomplished in more detail. I don't think what they've gotten working will translate but who knows?
