I had already tried a similar solution last night before raising my post this morning (using an adapter I bought to provide an HDMI output for my Dell XPS 15, which only has USB-C outputs), but my normal MC32 audio device of DENON-AVRHD (NVIDIA High Definition Audio) [WASAPI] was no longer available and I had to change my Output Format setting of 5.1 channels to Source number of channels before MC would start to play some music - though this was not a positive result, as my AV amp did not receive any audio signal.

The key problem is that Windows Playback settings show that my DENON-AVRHD device is not plugged in when using this USB to HDMI adapter.

Can you give some examples of the content of those fields and what you would like the final result to be?

Or maybe you have an old video card around?

i have a small problem that i can reproduce now. it is weird though.
Attachment1: I use mc with a split view, playing now in a locked as view 1. The display says that it is owned by an other window. I can not right click it or open it etc.

Attachment2: Now i change playing to view 2, lock it and restart mc and the mc server, start playing back, and the display is not locked or owned or what ever. Everything works.

Then i go back again, playing now as locked view one. Restart everything mc (is a must). And the display is locked again.  ?

I hope this is not too confusing.

The Intel NUC I have been using for several years as an HTPC has just died. Rather than replace it, I decided to use my primary Windows 11 workstation as the HTPC. The HDMI output of the GPU card on this workstation is now connected to my AV amp.

When using this to play multi-channel DSF files (ripped from my SACDs) I hit an unexpected problem. The music would stop as soon as the workstation's monitors went to sleep. However, it didn't take me long to find that JRiver already had a solution to this problem, using the audio setting of "Disable display from turning off (useful for HDMI audio)".

The only issue with that solution is that it leaves the two monitors on my workstation running when they are not being used. I could just switch them off, but is there a way to add an alternative HDMI output to a PC that bypasses the GPU card? I'm guessing that a discrete sound card might be the only way to do this.

Appreciate the response Dan. I ended up building a new HTPC which removed stuttering  ;D

i have no clue why, but uninstalling jriver and deleting the library with it and then reinstalling and rebuilding my library fixed this.

I would like to compare the values in InitialKey with those in the Grouping fields. Ideally I would like to find where the values do not match. I have looked at expressions but I don't know how I would go about doing a comparison between 2 fields and potentially updating one field or the other (ie update initialkey with the value in grouping or vice versa).

Any thoughts or direction on how to approach this would be tremendously appreciated.

It appears that since updating to MC 32, I'm having issues updating Cover Art.

If I have a Greatest Hits CD saved to MC, I want each song to have it's own cover art, instead of using the cover art that comes with the Greatest Hits CD.

I used to be able to easily make this change but now after changing one song's cover art, if I try to change the next song's cover art the both songs ends up with the same cover art. If I move the 3rd song, change the cover art, now all 3 have the same cover art. Not sure why this started  happening.

See example of issue in Picture1 attachment. Picture11 attachment is an example of what I am trying to achieve.

Thank you and keep doing what you're doing. Great software. Been using for years.
