I'm told this is caused by the new option called "Automatically manage color for apps" under "System > Display > Color Management". You can try turning that off maybe.
I will be looking into better support for when this option is turned on within JRVR.

My experience is that the MC syncing works very well if you sync to a local folder on the PC and then use some 3rd party software like Resilio to finish the sync to the handheld.  This is with Windows/Android, not sure about the Apple world.

The downside is that you wind up with dupes of all the media files which is about 280G in my case, but the cost of storage is so small now that it's not really an issue.  If you're only syncing a playlist or two for travel it's not an issue at all.

I'm using Resilio, and I'm not exactly happy with it, but it's working for me and not terribly expensive.  Probably better options out there, but I've got better things to do than fix things that aren't broken.

You can sync to USB drive since v23 or so. An USB stick is technically an handheld device ;) Just add its drive letter as the articles mention and sync away.

If you export just the playlist to D: and leave the media files in C:, then necessarily the playlist needs to point to C: ... relative paths only work when the media files are on the same folder (or at least same drive) as the playlist. Sync function takes care of that.

yes I did, pretty early on when it was released for the public.
Is that something JRVR might need to be updated for or an actual bug in windows 24H2?
I mean, I can go back to madVR but I've grown to like JRVR.

Did you upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 by any chance? I think there are some changes.

Hi, I've been using JRVR for months now and have it set to switch my TV to HDR mode when I play a movie with HDR, worked flawlessly same as with RedOctober madVR before.
I can't pinpoint exactly when (I don't watch HDR movies or shows that often) but this stopped working, when I start a video with HDR the screen does not get switched to HDR mode. After a bit of searching I found that for some reason, JRVR always registers the TV to be in HDR mode and therefore doesn't switch the TV to HDR.
RedOctober madVR works completely fine and switches correctly to HDR mode, this only happens with JRVR.
I tried rolling back nvidia drivers, using different TV Inputs, reinstalling MC, coincidentally I even got a new TV (from Sony LCD to LG OLED), nothing worked.
Now after a LOT of searching i found that this gets fixed if in the Nvidia control panel I set the output to 8bit color, then everything is back to normal, if I set it to 10 or 12 bit JRVR always thinks the display is in HDR.
I always had this set to 10bit before when it was still working, so this is something new.

Anyone got any idea if that is something I have to fix on my side or if it might be some weird bug in JRVR?

The referenced articles addresses sync of handheld devices.  In MC30 this feature is not implemented.  The sync issue does not address the format of the m3u file that is exported to the USB drive.

If the m3u file is properly formatted, it will work in any device in which it is plugged.

A little bit tricky but working, thanks

1. Create smartlist
2. Remove from Library
3. Go to created smartlist and remove it again
4. Add newly edited
Yeah, sometimes you have to remove it twice. I've not figured out why but it works.

I'm using Media Server to  remotely connect to my library via my laptop.  Compared with the output of main PC which is an external pro-audio D/A (M-Audio M-Track) the laptop headphone jack is missing a certain something. (slight dip in the ~200hz region I think)  Not awful, and clearly acceptable, but wondering what others are using for D/A on their laptops?

I'm skeptical that the $7 ones from Amazon are an improvement.  I don't need fancy mic preamps or even a line input since I'll only be using it for playback.

I bought a Behringer UCA202 that's on it's way - anybody have experience with other devices?
