I just upgrade from MC24 to MC27.

You can look under my name to see MANY good audiophile sampler I put yesterday.

I would like to see different nation music (Chinese/Japanese/Corean/Vietnam/Russian/African...)

You have very nice recordings. The quality is superb.

Two things.

I may have missed it in the toolbars customization, but it would be nice if the link to "Cloudplay" could be available in the top or bottom toolbar as a shortcut.

Also, is it possible to separate albums and/or playlists in the "New Playlists" link on the Cloudplay page.  I like to see what new playlists are there but when someone uploads a bunch of albums, it cycles the real playlists out rapidly on the one page available.  Or is there a way to see the second page?

We stole your idea and added it to 27.0.43:

I can understand the problem, but people shouldn't upload albums.  We're hoping to get well curated playlists.  The license we have doesn't allow albums, unless (arguably) they are multi-artist playlists.

Appreciate it on the toolbar.

Just to be clear, there is no way to get to a page 2 on "New Playlists"?

THANK YOU! All users who are sharing their AMAZING album collections and playlists.

The only TRUE lossless streaming, it's made my day, every day, especially during COVID.

Really grateful.

I would start a completely new subject titled "Reset Cloudplay Password" and put your first post reference this there.

Maybe it's lost in the thread where they don't see it.  Starting your own separate thread is more likely to be noticed.

It would take an administrator to verify you.  Good luck!

Today I managed to upload my first PlayList to Cloudplay. It is named "Australian Introspection". The problem is that although the upload worked and I received a confirmation email from JRiver, the PlayList has not appeared in the Cloudplay panel in MC27. My username is visible (dennismf) but it contains no playlists.

Is there a Moderation step that I must wait for?

I can see and play other PlayLists but I cannot see my own.

I have the same username and email address for my Interact and Cloudplay accounts. However the passwords are different. Is there some sort of account confusion?

Thanks and Regards,
DennisMF

PS - I added the URL provided in the confirmation email into my MC27 Streaming. This allows me to play my playlist under "Streaming" in MC27.

PS2: I have also found my new PlayList under "Playlists -> Cloudplay Playlists" in my MC27. The tags on these entries show URL's that reference RadioJRiver.

PS3: I have found that if I search for "Australian Introspection" in the MC27 Cloudplay panel, the search opens my (dennismf) user page but no Playlist is visible.

Re: JRiver Cloudplay -- Lossless Streaming -- Audio Analysis
« Reply #124 on: February 12, 2021, 07:16:07 am »

Hi Guys,
For a decade now I have just been using JRiver MC as a music player but am now investigating its amazing functionality. Today I discovered Cloudplay, marvellous!
When I go to upload a playlist I am advised that the files need audio analysis before uploading. My question is does this process alter the music files on my hard drive or is it just the cloud files that are altered?
Thanks.  ?

It modifies the tag for volume leveling, but not the media itself.    https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Analyze_Audio

I am fastidious about my tags and would not wish fields that matter to me to be altered. Do you know what tags it might alter?
Thanks.

Did you read the link?  Read also about volume leveling.  There is no harm done to your files.  It's required if you want volume leveling to work.

It will add fields to your files for volume leveling only.  It will not effect any other data field  and does not alter the file itself like older leveling programs.  No worries here, whatsoever.

I highly recommend it.

JRiver team, what you have built with Cloudplay is really outstanding. Congratulations, and thank you everyone for uploading all for the superb music playlists.

I just set up a monthly contribution/subscription. I reckon a little pocketbook pinch will give me incentive to use it more as well :).

What is next in the development pipeline for Cloudplay, and for the interface?

Happy to throw in a few ideas:

1. User tagging - users could add keyword tags to playlists to aid in knowing what is in what
2. Add Cloudplay track links (not the actual files) to libraries - opens up links to personal tagging and smartlist usage for local libraries
3. Search box capabilities aka MC, with genre, tags, keyword, etc. Maybe this is already there and I haven't found it.
4. Call specific playlists via MCC or MCWS. For me, this would be awesome as I use a lot of custom shortcuts in my system.

Cheers, and thanks again!!!!

Just post it here. But since you're using an older Media Center, your results with Cloudplay may vary as it's being continually improved. You might try MC27 if you haven't already to see if the issue(s) you're encountering still exist there. But it's also worth pointing out that development for older versions of Media Center has ended (right now only MC27 is actively developed), so if there's a bug in an older MC version, it won't be fixed unfortunately and the solution would be upgrading to MC27 (assuming, again, the issue(s) don't exist in MC27).

I really dig Dawgincontrol's multichannel playlists.  But the buffering is a little long, resulting in no sound and once in a while the song advances but there is no sound.  Most likely the cause is my internet connection but is there any setting that would help with this?

Thanks!

Thanks - tried that and it didn't help much.  I did increase the buffering to the max, and that helped a lot.  Songs hardly ever buffer now.

Hats off to Dawgincontrol for some excellent sounding multichannel playlists!

Hi,  Posting here as the link to post questions is in the MC26 section

Have a question on Cloudplay's expected behaviour with MC in a Server - Client setup

Server: MC 26.0.87 (Linux - Debian - Headless) - just realised this may be the issue.  Will upgrade over the weekend
Client: MC 27.0.66 (Windows 10)

From the client
  • Cannot play Cloudplay tracks when connected to the server's Library.  Get error "The file could not be opened for read access (error 3).
Check permissions, ownership and that the file is not in use by another program"
  • Can play Cloudplay tracks when the Main library is loaded

Is this the expected behavior?

thanks,

Steve

Just I'd like to comment that today I realized Cloudplay is finally working in my setup . I've been testing these for quite a while with no luck until today. It is not that I try every day or even every week, but from time to time I tried, and today it worked !!!    very happy.

For reference I use a Marantz NA6005 as streamer and JRiver 27.0.66 (64bits) on Win 10

Only thru DLNA

Many thanks for this great product     ;D ;D ;D

Would really like to see some extra features added to Cloudplay.

For example I would love the ability to create a playlist on the fly by inputting a Genre or Artist and required number of songs and Cloudplay returns you the requested playlist.

Any chance of this?

Cloudplay isn't selective enough, the lowest restriction is Some Variety.

I chose Eric Church as Artist and in the resulting list I get Comedy from Morecambe & Wise, Piano Concerto from Camille Saint-Saens and Christmas songs plus other tracks that I wouldn't want. And I already had the filter set to not include Genre = Christmas.

Also I have Cloudplay set to 100% and it is still picking up tracks from my Library

I just noticed recently that the upload rate has substantially improved. Before, my upload speed was only 200 KBPS even though I have 10 MBPS upload capacity.

Now it's blazing fast at around 10 MBPS. Has Amazon removed the throttling?

I have Tidal subscription and I use Tidal when commuting to work because based on the reviews of the Android version of JRiver, it leaves a lot to be desired.

However, when it comes to the PC version, I have observed that my tracks on JRiver (and those of others) have superior fidelity compared to the ones on Tidal even to the Master ones. I am using the JRiver app to play my tracks and I am using the Tidal app to play tracks on it.

It seems that the JRiver app is superior to Tidal in terms of playback and in terms of contents. I don't know what Tidal calls Master but my tracks on JRiver are mostly hi-res so I can only surmise that Tidal Masters are low bitrate tracks.

It's easier to search songs on Tidal compared to going to each of my playlists on JRiver to find where the song is, so I use Tidal most of the time out of convenience. But when I really want to relish the entity of the song, I always make sure to listen to it on JRiver. There doesn't seem to be a difference between the locally stored tracks and the Cloudplay stored tracks, as long as you have a good connection. It seems that JRiver doesn't alter or compress my songs that are stored on Cloudplay.

I have been uploading playlists to Cloudplay. I have been meaning to for quite some time, but some quick tagging fixes changed into multiple hard drive failures. All is fixed now and overall Coudplay has been trouble free. It has come a long way since the start.
Some notes about the process:

If I choose a playlist then 'upload to cloud' the dialog pops up in the action window and I can choose upload or cancel. Say I choose not to upload or i can't because there is mp3 in the playlist, so I then choose another playlist to upload, the files change but the name doesn't. When choosing a new playlist to upload the list and files should be updated. I uploaded numerous playlists with the wrong name when moving to another playlist to upload while I removed mp3's.

When changes are made to a playlist then it is re-uploaded, just the changes are uploaded instead of everything. This is great.

When a playlist is finished uploading, the current tab in MC changes to Cloudplay. I would would prefer this to happen in a new tab or not at all.

Once a playlist is uploaded, it then appears in the "Cloudplay Playlists" playlist group. This makes sense, but all of the playlists are empty and do essentially nothing. Are they supposed to be populated?

Uploading many playlists is a bit tedious to do one at a time even with a decent internet connection. It would be nice to have the ability to upload more than one at a time. One way could be to allow selecting multiple playlists, another could be the ability to mark playlists as Cloudplay then 'sync all' to upload new ones and any changes that have been made since last sync. Just ideas, I wouldn't want to complicate things but I think it would help with bulk uploads.
