I will try and use the license I already have from the previous purchase and let you know how it works out.
Licenses for Media Center are "per customer" (generally) not "per installation". You are allowed to install MC on the PCs that you personally own and control, within reason. They are also good for all minor revisions "within" a major version (all the point releases of MC v21, for example). If you get the
Master License then they're also cross-platform (otherwise a Windows License is only good on Windows copies of MC). More information (in addition to the Link Jim provided above) can be found here:
http://www.jriver.com/purchase.htmlI seem to have lost my Artists subcategory under Audio. How do I get that back? Thanks.
The Artists "subcategory" is a
Media View that is part of your
Library. You can move and delete Media Views in the
Tree. Perhaps you accidentally moved the Artists View somewhere else? If you drag-drop the Views on the Tree, you will get a Move/Copy/Cancel pop-up, and can move them to different parts of the Tree.
If your installation is brand new and you have not made any custom Views or Playlists, you could just clear (reset) the Library with the Library Manager:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Library_ManagerAnd then re-import your files.
If you need to import Views, Playlists, Settings, or whatever from a previous installation (the other computer you referenced, perhaps) you could restore a Library Backup made on that copy to your new copy:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Library_BackupMC itself also makes automatic Library Backups, so you might even on the new one have one of those you could restore. But, as I said above, if the installation is brand new, you can just Clear the current Library and start over.
