It is recommended that Youtube parsers use yt-dlp for faster, better, higher quality video and performance.

In addition, yt-dlp works not only for Youtube streaming, it works perfectly for most other streaming, and the project is so active that it is the single best solution worth adopting.

https://www.digitalcitizen.life/shortcut-arguments-parameters-windows/

Create a shortcut to nircmd.exe then edit the shortcut properties to add the arguments, something like "nircmd.exe exec hide c:\yourpath\yourscript.bat"

... or use nircmd to create the shortcut :)
> nircmd.exe cmdshortcut "~$folder.desktop$" "Start MC" exec hide c:\yourpath\yourscript.bat

You can change the shortcut icon after creating it.

Many thanks for that. I now have a shortcut on my desktop that opens MC, detaches the display for a specific zone, and then makes that the current zone. I could not have achieved that without all your help, for which I am very grateful :):):)

I'm not yet sure if hiding the screen flash created by a batch file by using nircmd is a slicker solution than my previous method of triggering the .bat file via a .vbs file, but it's good to have more than one way to do things.

You can use a single MC license on multiple personal computers, no problem.

I didn't know where else to put this. There wasn't any email listed.

I have licenses for MC 20,21 and 22. I currently use them on one PC. I want to use them on two PCs. Windows. I have only one license for each. I understand I may need to buy licenses to do this, I am happy to do this. If the JRiver staff could tell me how to purchase licenses for these older versions so I may use them on multiple PCs. Also if they could provide links to download certain older versions along with the license that would be great. The links need not be online permanently, only until I can download the installer. Please help me.

I do not want the newest version of JRiver. I am interested only in 20,21 and 22.

Thank you.

Nircmd hide should do the job for that purpose

The author of nircmd describes it as a command-line utility. How do I create a program that exploits nircmd to run my .bat file in hidden mode?

Just to be clear, there is no issue if you left click, hold, and drag in the uppermost "border" region (above the PlayerBar and at the same level as the menus, customized toolbar buttons, and Close button).  This is the same region universally used to drag Windows.  You only get Spotlight when left clicking in the PlayerBar region.  The sensitive region is nicely revealed if you have Tooltips activated and hover the mouse about.

Personally, I think having a "left click hold PlayerBar" action is clever and would be potentially a more valuable use of this screen real estate if the user could specify which action occurs.  I agree with HPBME in that there are plenty of other ways to activate Spotlight, so for me it's not necessary to have it here since I do not use Spotlight all that often.  However, I would love it if left click in this region could activate one of my most used toolbar buttons.  For example, I might choose opening the Options menu, something I do fairly often, or maybe toggling the Tree visibility, etc.  The "left click hold PlayerBar" action could be user-selected by adding a checkbox in the middle region of the Customize Toolbar popup.  Then if nothing is selected there, the region reverts to dragging the window (Spotlight would have to be added to the customize toolbar list).

If none of this is deemed possible at this time, then I vote for leaving the current action alone since it does make logical sense to quickly open Spotlight from the PlayerBar once you realize what is going on.  It's more useful to me as is than adding additional area for just dragging a window.

You might try updating first to see if it's been already addressed, the latest version is 32.0.45.
