Great start - very excited to see the development of MC17 start. I am hoping that I can completely replace my current TV PVR solution with MC17 once TV changes stabilizes.

Thanks,
Osho

Thank you, Jim!  This is great news.

Is the list of new features comprehensive?  As someone who uses MC as the core of my HTPC, I'm wondering if there are other improvements to Theater View...  Like improved layouts (esp for Movies), better customizability, or a more serious theater view skinning capability so that position/presence of items, fonts, etc could be adjusted.

WOW!!! Ask and ye shall receive. It's really happening with TV. Maybe I'll be able to switch from Sage before too long. So glad you put all this effort in TV.

Also looks like some other seriously useful improvements too.

Thanks a lot for all the hard work - and that goes for the Beta Testers too.

great news.

The link for carnac doesn't seem to work ... but if auto tagging can look at the path of a file and auto-tag the sub-type, genre, grouping and series, then MC17 is what I have been waiting for...

Will v17 rebuild the library like v16 did? Or can I install 17 beta when it becomes public and still use the same library for 16 and 17?

As far as I see, V16 libraries are compatible with V17, but not the other way around. Not sure if that has changed since I checked a few builds ago.

The upgrade is pretty painless, it is going to automatically read your MC16 library and settings to create the MC17 one.  You will have to re-setup any Theaterview Veiw Schemes but that is about it.  ;D

Just wondering, as I understood that the builders were a sort enthusiastic about my ideas too: are these two items built in version 17?
