New MC15 Features and How to Upgrade
« on: April 01, 2010, 03:46:23 pm »

Thanks for considering JRiver Media Center 15.

MC15 can be installed alongside any older version of MC back to 11.1, and used at the same time.

You'll find a download link in the first thread at the top of this board, in a topic with a title of "Media Center 15.0.xxx -- Available Here".

Here's How to Upgrade to MC15.

Thanks for considering upgrading to MC15.  It's $26.98 to upgrade from previous versions.

The most stable build is available from our download page.  A newer, but possibly less stable build may be available at the top of this board.

Please use these instructions for upgrading to MC15.

Thanks!

Just installed build 15.0.16 and upgraded my license, money well spent! Thanks for providing such a great media solution, at an affordable price! :)

This is timely as I'm in the process of upgrading machines here to Win7.

Please refresh my memory on the process of upgrading when doing a fresh install of Windows: MC14 must be on there first?  Or can I upgrade on another machine that's currently running MC14 and then use the .mjr file to license it?

That would work.  The Install Key (mjr) is good for 14 days.  After that, you'd need to do a restore.

Server Home Page provides a menu of servers available for access from other machines at home or away.  Servers available include Library Server, WebRemote, WebPlay, and the Media Center Web Service (for developers).

Here's a new page on our wiki that summarizes all of MC's network features and a new Media Network board.

ZoneLink offers the ability to play the same content in multiple locations, including local hardware zones, or DLNA devices.

MC15 will optionally import settings, when you restore, from backups made by MC14 or MC15.
